Up till a few weeks ago I used to like to use the HondaLink app (on Android) to send a destination to my car (Limited). A recent HondaLink update seems to have broken this though. Is anyone else having issues?

Now when I send a destination it says "Your destination will be sent to your vehicle next time you connect to your vehicle." That would be fine except it NEVER actually sends, even once I'm in the car and connected.

I will admit prior to the update it was very buggy in the sense that it never saved these sent destinations into 'recent', and it was a bit flaky about sending (sometimes would go and pop up as soon as I got in the car, sometimes might take 20 minutes before it showed up on the head unit, sometimes it never came through, and sometimes it would show up the following time that I started the car.) It was annoying, but seemed to work about 70% of the time which is better than the current 0%.

    Any suggestions or ideas?

I do my route in Google maps.

Make sure you Start the trip on your phone.
Get in and power on car.
    Connect phone to USB port.
Android Auto starts on the head unit.
Select icon on bottom-left and it will show your route already working.

This has worked for me 100% of the time...so far.

Sent from my SM-N960U using Inside EVs mobile app

Thanks David - I should have clarified (pun intended) - I meant sending it to the built-in Honda/Garmin navigation rather than using Android Auto. I use Android Auto/ Apple Car Play a lot when traveling for work and renting a car, but I find it more annoying than the built-in nav most of the time.

The problem I'm having is slightly different. I send the destination from my phone. When I get in the car and start driving I get an alert (audible) and then a message at the top of the screen flashes that the destination to xx has been received. But I can't find it anywhere in the Garmon system. I've also tried setting it as a favorite, still no luck.

Any more info on the OP's question? If not, I plan to call Honda today to report the problem. It makes this important feature almost useless since the destination doesn't get to the nav system until 5 minutes or so after starting the car.

I just got off the phone with Honda tech support and they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix to the app. The last update caused the app to wait until connecting to the car before sending the destination. Of course, she was not able to provide a timeframe for the fix but my impression was that it would not be long.

I can't get it to send at all lately. It just shows the "connect to car guide" button, despite the phone obviously being connected (remote climate works, calling and TTS texts work, Pandora works, etc.).

FWIW, Jason, your issue sounds like you're seeing the notification and not tapping it quick enough. Pull down from the top of the screen like any other Android device and it'll show up in the notification list.

Same symptoms for my iPhone except that it sends the destination by itself with no further interaction a few minutes after I start the car.

Thanks vinoh. That's good to know they are at least aware of the issue... As I mentioned mine doesn't even always send when I'm connected to the car.

Jason P, as someone else mentioned, put a finger just off the center top of the screen (on the black bezel) and drag downwards. It will open a menu with the destination in it.
