Well it finally happened. Saw a privately licensed silver Clarity at intersection of 96th and Michigan Rd in Indianapolis a few days back. I honestly thought I owned the only one in the state. Seems I was mistaken...there are obviously two in the state.
Grand Rapids, MI; Fuller Ave near I-196. Around 10:30 am I was waiting for a car so I could pull out of a parking lot when I noticed - light bars! Checked the hood - the H! Checked the rear wheels as it drove by - spats! I turned in behind it and got a pretty good look at a crimson pearl Clarity PHEV. So I saw my first one before I got mine.
Today was notable with *4* Clarity sightings; one in the morning, one in the work parking lot, and 2 more on the way home (2 of us in a row and the 3rd passed by to take a turn). Most days I see 0, sometimes 1 or 2. Oh, and it turns out a learning permit holder doesn't appreciate dad yelling "Clarity!" while she's driving!
In NJ I have recently seen a black Clarity on the Garden State Parkway and a silver one on i287. I honked and waved both times. I am goofy like that.
Spotted a white Clarity as it was exiting the Arboretum at Penn State. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like there's something about the Clarity that looks so much better in person compared to online images? Sent using Inside EVs mobile app
Not just you. Cars are all about lines and curves. These don't show up nearly so well in pictures as in person.
Going on 2.5 months of ownership and haven't seen a single Clarity in central Okla. A quick search on autotrader shows only 2 used ones for sale within 100 miles. The closest new ones are in the Dallas metroplex. I have seen a few Tesla Model 3's in this area, oddly enough. A Clarity is about as rare as a DeLorean in these parts!
If you look at the images from the Japan website, you may notice the perspective, focal length, etc... seem to be correct. The US website uses an odd perspective for the car images, even Civic and Accord look a little off. https://www.honda.co.jp/CLARITYPHEV/
In 1 1/2 years, I've seem a grand total of one single Clarity and that was at our local EvolveKY electric car advocacy group. If I see another Clarity before I see a Unicorn, Yeti, or Chupacabra, I’ll probably have a heart attack. It’s lonely being green in coal country.
We live in Wake Forest. I saw my first Clarity heading north on Capital. She peeled off toward downtown. Shame I wasn’t in my Clarity. Tried to do the wave motorcyclists give each other when they pass. Figured I’d confuse and frighten her. Some ‘middle aged white dude throwing a drop wave from a Subaru Forester.
Saw one at the Tillamook Cheese Factory in Oregon earlier this week - we were in the Tesla, though, so no twinning… Only one we ever saw in over three weeks of travel - and almost 3500 miles of driving. They're few and far between.
Pittsburgh international airport long term parking on Wednesday night. Two spots down from me in the designated EV parking spots.
Not just the pictures are different the price tag too: 5,880,600円= 53,799.85 USD What am I missing???
You aren't missing anything. Cars are very expensive in Japan. Actually compared to the US you'll find cars are very expensive in most all of the rest of the world.
Today - I295 northbound in NJ, close to Trenton, around 8.30am - white Clarity, male driver with white headphones on, going about 60mph. Tried to acknowledge as I passed by, but he was too slow for the flow of traffic.
