From the leaked information about the larger battery in the Ioniq Electric do we also have any details about the battery size and price of the revised Ioniq PHEV?
So far, I can only find that it will be available in July. Maybe they'll let us know more about it at the New York Auto Show in a week or so.
No word yet. I think I did find a typo in that InsideEVs post, though. The current Ioniq has an 8.9 kWh battery, not a 9.8 kWh pack.
Maybe 9.8 is actual size and 8.9 is "available" capacity (90%) ... I think the Chevy Volt does sometime similar to make the battery degrade slower.
No doubt the usable size is smaller than 8.9 overall capacity, but we don't know what it is. (I imagine it's around 8 kWh or a little better) Anyhow, the 8.9 is the official Hyundai spec and refers to the overall amount of energy it can hold.
Whoah....check out this article. 21 year backlog on batteries. You guys should have a story on this. Puts in perspective all those battery expansion plans we hear about. Doing the math they added approx 7 years of backlog just since Jan 1. https://www.argusmedia.com/en/news/...og-surges-on-strong-demand?backToResults=true
Article out this morning has all the new PHEV numbers (which look a lot like the old PHEV numbers): 8.9 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery (output 59 kW, nominal voltage 360 V) system output: 104 kW / 141 PS of power and 265 Nm of torque 1.6L KAPPA 1.6 ATKINSON GDI engine (105 PS, 147 Nm) with 6-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (44.5 kW and 170 Nm) 3.3 kW on-board charger Kerb weight (in running order): 1,495 kg Max Payload: 475 kg Gross Vehicle Weight: 1,880 kg
Even if the battery stays the same, there may be weight/aerodynamic improvements that could improve it slightly. Hopefully we'll find out soon (this month).
