This is a Honda website listed Clarity accessory. Anyone have one or seen it? I've had rubber ones in some previous vehicles and found them useful to reduce stuff sliding around and collect dirt and liquids. The picture looks like it may only cover the back (lower) area of the trunk and would not be as useful.

My Clarity came with a rubber trunk tray and it only covers the lower area of the trunk closest to the opening. That said, it has been great to keep my stuff from sliding forward. Not so much side to side. I also have the front and back deep rubber floor mats. Had to remove the regular mats, because they snap in tight. They are great!

Since the topic is on the trunk, does anyone know whether there is a weight restriction on that raised area just behind the rear seat? I read someplace that you can't place anything over 15lbs on that in the BEV because of the battery. If that's true for the PHEV, that really reduces the usability of the trunk.

I agree. I've been hoping they will offer a full trunk tray. Looks to me like what is being offered is usable in all three variations of Clarity and the 2" step in the floor of the Plugin is where the other two models have the significant step up.

FWIW, I called Weather Tech today and they said that they are in the process of measuring for products for our Claritys. Of course they could give no timeline but we can only hope. I put in a plug for a trunk mat that covers the whole trunk. I’m going to order the floor mats from Honda and wait on the trunk mat since Honda’s is so small. In reading through the forums, I saw a recommendation for College Hills Honda. They have trunk tray for $75 and all season mats for $114 plus shipping but no tax. Much better than my local dealer. Anybody got a better price because I’m ready to pull the trigger?

I've got the trunk tray - it is pretty small. For the top shelf portion I used 2 square floormats that I used to have in the back seat of my highlander. They cover it pretty well. (Just generic big-box store mats.)

HondaPartsPrime.com beat College Hills after shipping. College Hills is only about an hour from me, so I'll probably get any bigger accessories from them, plus I like supporting more of a local dealer as much as I can. I tried getting my local dealer (2 miles away) to match the prices since College Hills isn't THAT far and they wouldn't even respond to me.

Thanks so much. I’m going to price check what I want there vs College Hills. My dealership’s Parts Dept would not match their prices either and shipping is about the same as local taxes so they lost my business for combined parts orders. Thanks for helping us save $.

That's cool. I talked with them back in Dec and they just said they would get to the Clarity sometime 'in the Spring' so it sounds like they might be making progress. The Honda mats are pretty good. My only gripes:
    1) They don't cover the drivers 'dead pedal' area where I rest my salt-covered left foot.
    2) They don't cover the 'hump' in the middle of the back seat.
    3) They don't work well at all with leaving the carpeted mats installed. This wouldn't be nearly as big of a deal if #1 and #2 weren't the case but, the carpeted mats at least somewhat cover these areas (especially the hump) so it would have been nice.

Thanks for the info on the mats. Appears that I wil need to buy a cheap little mat and cut it to fit that uncovered area as I’m too messy to wait for Weather Tech. And thanks for the url on he accessories. They are slightly lower priced and the shipping is much lower so I’m going to use them. Wish I could give you a finders fee!

You can also check with TuxMat, they are in Toronto Canada. I know someone brought their Clarity in for them to do a laser scan to get the proper dimension. No idea what the price is (full set for Accord is CAD$230, about US$180) and they said it should be ready by March. They have some review video on youtube for other models you can check out to see if you like their floor liner

I have the Honda all weather mats and can confirm they’re very nice and fit well. They’re actually thicker than many Weather Tech mats I’ve used over the years. As aapitten mentioned, the only real flaw I’ve found is the uncovered left foot rest. I generally don’t use trunk mats, so I haven’t pursued that.

Thank you so very much for sharing the instructions. We now have the definitive answer of where it goes and what it does, which evidently is not much.
It says it’s not for heavy or fragile items, so that doesn’t leave much to use it for LOL.
I’m holding out for the full coverage WeatherTech but may have to settle for the other full mats posted previously.

    Well, the OP says:

I guess that's its purpose, then. The instructions from Honda certainly don't tell us what it's for!
