Hmmm... Well, I hope that represents just part of your investments. Bob, I'm probably the very last person who should be giving stock investment advice, since when I tried to predict the movement of a stock just for fun, I was usually wrong... but diversification is good. Unforeseen disaster might overtake any company... even Tesla.

Yes, this was a very decent quality debate. Saw this few days ago.
I may not agree with Gene Munster on his views about this matter.
But I commend his calm and pleasant demeanor, and his ability to speak cohesively to make his points.
Very unlike the other Tesla bulls who showed up on TV in the past. I'm talking about folks like Ron Baron, Palhapitiya, Ross Gerber, the ARK investment ladies, that cartoon Indian analyst who checks traffic in Tesla restrooms to judge company's success (forgetting his name).

Hmph, they're both ignoring facts and pushing their "talking points". The "bull" claims Tesla has 80% of the market in the U.S., clearly referring only to BEVs, not all plug-in EVs. He also claims Tesla's batteries are 92% better than those of competitors, proving he doesn't have a clue about the engineering. Contrariwise, the "bear" uses cherry-picked facts, saying that in the past two months, Model 3 sales are down by two-thirds "in the U.S. market alone". Well of course, technically that's true... because Tesla has started shipping much or most of its Model 3 production overseas for the first two months of the quarter, as it will be doing on a regular basis from now on.

I can't speak to their financial predictions because I'm not a "financial guy", but the parts of the conversation I did understand were filled with half-truths and outright B.S. That includes the comment from the female who I am guessing is one of the newsies at CNBC; a comment which showed CNBC's pronounced anti-Tesla bias when she said there is now a "real question" about demand for Tesla's cars.

Yeah, there's a "real question" about demand, all right; the question is how many more years it will take Tesla to ramp up production to actually meet demand!

The gap between reality and the anti-Tesla narrative is as wide as ever. The short-sellers want us to believe that demand for Tesla's cars has collapsed, while the reality is that Tesla is building not just one, but two new automobile assembly plants in order to deal with far more demand than they can possible handle this year!

    Keep going Tesla!

So Germany bans the misleading marketing Tesla has been doing for years. But here in scam nation America, it continues openly and unabated.

In response to @bwilson4web's cries below of disbelief for his Tesla being caught and lessoned on yet another fraud: Check Tesla fan sites. Even Tesla's fans are angry at such misleading marketing. Just tell the price. Let the consumer figure out what he can save. Just tell them where to look. Such savings obviously vary by electricity price, time of charging, what car he is driving currently, etc. The income tax credit savings is another one like that. Not everyone can get the $7500 credit, especially when it is down to the Model 3 price range.
Tesla has been fraudulently using the best guesses from Elon to help show bigger savings without any basis.

Well their audience, CNBC, seems to have limited attention span and they seem to think it is universal.

Remind me again how Model 3 is $21k for someone who is currently driving a Leaf or a Bolt.

Here is another illegal activity Tesla engages in openly.

Morgan Stanley says automakers want to sell cars like Tesla does but can’t: ‘It’s against the law’
    PUBLISHED TUE, MAR 5 2019
    KEY POINTS
    • Tesla’s announcement of fully online sales “is a major event in U.S. auto retailing,” Morgan Stanley’s Adam Jonas said on Tuesday.
    • “Most auto companies would love to sell vehicles the way Tesla does. There’s just one catch. They can’t. It’s against the law,” Jonas said.

Here's a report on the subject from a reputable news site, Bloomberg:

"Tesla to Drop ‘Misleading’ Marketing in Germany Touting Model 3"

(WARNING: That link goes to Bloomberg's "Hyperdrive" page, not to the specific article, so the link may soon be out of date.)

Well congratulations, "TeslaInvestors", you have a complaint about Tesla which is actually half-right. Yes, the way Tesla now advertises prices for its cars on its website is quite misleading, including estimations of fuel savings and tax credits which someone may or may not qualify for, and putting an asterisk after the price. You have to look down at the bottom of the page to find the real price, in a smaller font. (◣_◢)

Where you're wrong, Mr. Shorty Pants, is in claiming Tesla has been doing that "for years". In fact it was only fairly recently that Tesla started that misleading practice.

In fact, that was one of the reasons that I became a Tesla fan: Because Tesla was, until recently, eschewing that sort of misleading marketing. I expect that sort of false advertising from other companies, but not from Tesla!

    * * * * *

Here's hoping that other governments follow Germany's lead in forcing Tesla to stop that kind of misleading advertising.

Today's all you need to know news on Tesla:
    * In yet another desperate effort to keep Model 3 assembly line running, Tesla expands Model 3 sales to Mexico.
    https://finance.yahoo.com/m/8b0e62d8-83d1-3f21-b050-dd1c2a229fa7/tesla-opens-model-3-sales-in.html
    * Tesla secures $520M loan in China for its soon to be white elephant Giga factory (well, just a tiny car factory actually.)
    https://finance.yahoo.com/m/d6158e2e-6d13-3c46-9c9b-e087db5bcddc/tesla-locks-up-a-loan-for-its.html
    * Landlords: Tesla still needs to pay rent for shuttered stores. (It's first come, first serve now till there is money left.)
    https://finance.yahoo.com/m/50c5eb60-99d9-3fd3-af8a-55fc24af2470/[$$]-landlords-to-tesla:.html

    * Tesla investors (not me, 2 separate words there!) sue to stop Elon's reckless twitter use.
    https://www.engadget.com/2019/03/08/tesla-investors-sue-over-elon-musk-tweets/?yptr=yahoo

Where is that guy with a binary name 101100111 or something? LOL. He was crying that SEC was gagging the pathological liar Elon Musk. Now it is Tesla's own investors.

  17. I think this is something everyone would like to see. It's fine to have an estimate of saving on the site, but the initial price buyers see should be the actual number.

Gosh, it sounds like I may get my Model 3 by the end of March.

    Thanks,

In yet another example of Pavlovian response, serial Tesla bashers are now attempting to describe every move by Tesla to expand its market as "another desperate effort".

Everybody else calls that "growing the business".

This brings an interesting 'challenge' to the SHORTs. If I get my Model 3 by the end of March ... well my TSLA should do well.

Yes, you will! Even though the production constrained Tesla is supposedly shipping all it can makr to EU and China.
And there is the mythological 500000 waiting list too.
LOL. All this is happening even though Elon says the Sr Model 3 production will not even be scaled up before mid year!
Thanks for the heads up on coming demand cliff.
Time to load up some more "-$TSLA".

Curiously, we both are after the same thing, -$TSLA.

I've put another part of my KL stock up and if reached by the near the end of March, I'll have liquidity to buy more TSLA.
