I tried playing music from USB stick. The sound quality is a lot better than Satellite/HD/FM radio or Bluetooth streaming.
Unfortunately it always keeps on going back to playing track 1 on the USB stick.
I loaded a few hour-long DJ mix shows so not remembering the last track/time played is a major problem for me.
Does anyone know way around that?

Welcome to Honda's categorically inferior infotainment system. It works that way in all their cars and has for at least three years. This is what works in our 2016 Pilot....just before shutting the car off, change the input source to something other than the USB stick. Then, next time you start the car, switch back to the USB stick. It should pick up where it left off and not go back to track 1. Big PITA.

Mine works just fine and I have a 32GB stick with 5300 or so songs on it. Only complaint is it does not run playlists, but folders. It won't take anything bigger than 32 GB either (I thing it only reads FAT32 format).

The work around doesn't seem to work once I turn the engine off. It will remember the last spot on the USB stick when you switch to another source and switch back while the car is still on.

I've switched to SirisXM before turning the car off. When it turns back on, it's SiriusXM and then back to USB - first track again!

Wish someone know a work around on this. I'm so sick of hearing the first song before hitting the Random Play option

Not really a solution, I know, but you could make the first file an .mp3 of 30 seconds of silence. Then at least you wouldn't get the same song blaring at you each time before hitting random.

I don't have this problem at all.

Mine remembers the last track played and the current position on the last track.

I use a 64GB Sandisk Cruzer Fit USB2.0 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FJRS6QY/) connected to the 1.0A port on the passenger side underneath the wood gear selector center console bridge thing. There's 2354 MP3's on it totaling 17.5 GB and haven't had any issues otherwise with playback of songs. Mine is formatted as FAT32. A few bonus points about that USB drive... the hinged cap over the 1.0A USB port can close completely over the USB drive while its inside so it doesn't appear that anything is there otherwise. No weird USB drive sticking out, no open USB cap over there.

The driver side 1.5A USB port I reserve for Android Auto with a USB cord to my phone.

My wife's Leaf on the other hand resets every single time on the USB to the first song and also resets the repeat/random back to off.

I found a spare 64GB USB stick but it would not format in FAT32 but only exFat. I've also read that FAT32 can only handle up to 32GB.

That means I'm stuck with only up to 32GB USB stick?

Well, I located a software online to format my 64GB USB stick to FAT32. Now it plays AND remembers the last song/segment played!

Hurray! Problem solved! Not sure why the previous cheapo 8GB USB stick was problematic. Thanks all for your help!

Plus you please give us a link to that software? I’m sure there’s people like me who would like to use a 64 instead of a 32 G stick. Thanks.
