I'm sorry! lol I am rooting for all of us to get them by the end of this month. Just feeling a little grumpy with the big price and facing the reality of paying for it. When you go in to sign things and try to dicker a little it seems so stressful. Oilberta has the best news this morning as that ship has to be full of Kona EV's!

Now that is exciting news. I just saw on another forum that there will be a media Kona Electric event in Valleyfield in Québec on January 15th... Hyundai Canada will be there for the event.

  6. My dealer has always been of the belief that Hyundai Canada was intending to orchestrate a big launch event and that a lot of the secrecy and delays we're in order to create this "buzzworthy" launch. Looks like he might have been right.

Well I am sure that there finger is hovering just above the send button to send us the update(s) that they promised. I am sure there will be information on this huge launch as well. I wonder if that dealer has a VIN or are they waiting along with the rest of Canada? Poor very Poor

I ended up cancelling mine today :(.......just too expensive at this time. My self imposed ceiling was $50K out the door. VINs were apparently allocated as of yesterday which technically negates a refund of the deposit but since the communication has been so poor between Hyundai and us pre-order folks, the dealer honored my request to cancel. If anyone in Calgary area wants a Galactic Grey with the light interior, Crowfoot Hyundai should have one available soon.

  14. That's too bad, especially after such a lengthy and tumultuous wait. But, man, I understand. It's a pretty big ticket item. It's fully 10K more than my dealer's estimated MSRP way back when and 20 K more all in (in Ontario) after taxes and charges. I just happened to have some "don't give a sh*t" money (for the first time in my life) so I'm following through with it. Otherwise I would have been forced to pack it in too. I sympathize.

I understand totally. I woke up in the night with some anxiety over our visit to the dealership to deal with the cost etc. I am still doing self talk to convince myself that we should go through with this deal.

I myself am on the edge of saying no to this as well .I really wouldn't take too much for me to just throw in the towel and call it quits .

I think the price will have a big impact on sales. I saw this article about Leaf sales in Ontario falling off a cliff when the incentives disappeared in Ontario. I also heard of someone walking into a dealership in Vancouver last week and ordering a Kona EV with delivery scheduled for the end of February. Of course the actual delivery date might be wildly different but it shows that Hyundai probably doesn't have a huge backlog of waiting customers. Supply and demand at work.

  18. My dealer mentioned that he had an order in November that was being fulfilled now and we know of other"late" orders too. It's got me a little puzzled. What was the initial demand? Why did they cut off orders in August if they can still honour late orders? Maybe they really ramped up the alottment to Canada late in the process? I also heard that there were 2000+ orders that will not be fulfilled in this first wave. Maybe those are Preferred trims? Who knows? I hope some numbers leak out soon.

  19. My dealer said that you won't be able to order the Preferred trim until later in the spring and delivery is expected in the fall of this year.

  20. My dealer called this morning! My Ultimate in Galactic Grey is in the port of Vancouver! He will know soon what the transportation timeline is but he said they will go by rail from Vancouver to the Toronto yard, and then from there by car carrier to my dealership in London Ontario. He said yesterday his system went from showing zero cars allotted to five. For all you easterners out there, there's hope!

  21. Got my VIN yesterday. Now I can get insurance quotes and start planning for the arrival. I'm thinking 2 weeks.
