I hate pop-ups too. I mostly use a laptop on the site and don't have to deal with those, but this banner on the bottom that you can close, but then opens again with every page is killing me. Asked if we could do anything about it, but haven't heard back yet.
Hi, I support those who provide a quality product and subscribed a week ago. I like the change: Subscribed - via PayPal, an easy way to send $20 Post for sale and wanted ads in Classifieds - not tested, yet. No Ads! - much, much quieter. Now if we could just subscribe to specific subjects like engineering, space, aviation, or sexy ladies. <grins> Access to private forums - those who pay are likely to need less moderation. Potentially a 'party line' (an ancient, rural telephone service), it is more open because we don't have to address everyone. Those who subscribe are on the party line. Create your own signature - so folks can see a brief summary of what I bring to the party. Note that the current signature is displayed on past postings versus a snapshot when the post is made. *yearly subscription, NO recurring payments - I so hate automatic recurring charges. Let me bring my fiscal thanks, not dip into my wallet. There were a few hiccups, the usual early integration and test problems. Thankfully the professional, technical staff, @Jack, @Rob Lay, and @Domenick have been very effective. Thanks, Bob Wilson
Yes, this bottom banner is killing the experience for me too. It also stops me from typing if it is switching to a different ad. Ugh!!!! I don't mind supporting but I refuse to pay a monthly fee equivalent to Netflix for a forum access.
It is a once per year fee, $20, and is not auto-renewable. But it was the signature I was after. Bob Wilson
Once in a while a post I have made is removed. I don't know why, I never insult anyone and try to keep my posts factual. It would be nice if the moderator removing my post would send me an email with a short description of why.
Hmm, that's odd. I don't recall ever having to remove one of your posts. Typically, when I do remove a post, I give an explanation. If you know the thread the post is missing from, shoot me a note and I can maybe see what happened.
https://insideevs.com/albuquerque-reject-and-return-byd-electric-buses/ Automatic removal, been fixed by Steven Loveday, still curious why bot removed it.
Oh, I see. You are talking about a thread on InsideEVs, not the Forum. Comments on the news site are a separate issue, but I'll try to explain. Because of a huge increase in new (and often profane) posters, they've had to tighten up the comments system. Unfortunately, that means a good number get set aside for moderation. They do try to keep the wait for moderation to less than an hour, and I believe most comments are probably reviewed before they're 20 minutes old.
Is there a way to host the file locally rather than on an external site like Photobucket. Those links eventually get broken and your board will start to look shabby.
What PriusChat does is cache a local copy of images which is good news and bad news. The good news is if someone gets pissed and deletes their content, well it stays around. The bad news is if you make a mistake, it is frozen in eternity. Bob Wilson
I wanted to compliment the author of: https://insideevs.com/counterpoint-munro-analysis-tesla-model-3-body/ But instead of finding a comment box it says "No responses" and a solicitation for "Subscribe to our e-mail newsletter to receive updates." This is new so I entered my least favorite, all SPAM, e-mail address ... and still can't comment. I understand the Forum and News teams appear to be separate groups but this strange solicitation for joining an e-mail, news list seems uncharacteristic. Did someone suddenly think,"Boy are we going to be RICH by junking up our reader's e-mail like Sanford Wallace!" Occam's razor, someone forgot to enable comments on the article. Bob Wilson
Just a heads up for the "News" side, I'm seeing early problems with posting comments using Safari. Twice this morning I went to post and it 'froze' with a small, black dot oscillating over the top right, 3-bar, menu icon. I can still navigate but it looks weird. If more details are needed, I can make some screen shots but in the scale of problems, more of a 'by the way' than 'hair on fire.' FYI, I just replicated the problem using Firefox. It is a current OS, Macintosh. Chrome shows the oscillating dot but after a few seconds, it goes away. But the link to the Bjorn article on Model 3 efficiency sent me to a VW article. Bob Wilson
