Estimated Time to Charge Completion?

    I have a Chevy Volt, and just last Sunday purchased a Honda Clarity. When I charge the Chevy Volt, it automatically gives the estimated time of charge completion for both 120V and 240V.

    Is there a way to get this information on the clarity? If not, is it best to just estimate 4 miles per hour on 120V? If I can't get an estimate, is there a way to see the historical information for when charge was completed?

    On the Clarity, I also have trouble figuring out the electric range. Through the "Info" menu, the estimated remaining EV range appears different than on the EV "gauge" on the left side of the dash. And the estimate on "Honda Link" appears different again. I miss the nice simple "# of miles remaining" indicator on the Volt. Which of these 3 should I trust?

    Other than these minor quibbles, loving the car. Much nicer than my old 2013 Volt overall.

    The only one I trust is the Gauge on the left side. As far as estimate - that is a tough one, the lower the charge the quicker the charging and as it fills up it slows down....

    There used to be one in app, but they removed it a few months ago. I sent a feature request feedback and got called back. Didn't see the timet come back though.

    The most accurate number for EV range is on the driver interface range screen:

    The scale on the left side of the interface is not accurate. The bottom two bars are always there as the system will not allow you to fully deplete the battery. I have found that the % it shows is based on getting approx 35 miles for a full charge and I average about 45-50 so it never seems accurate. I just leave the range display on the screen and it is quite accurate.
    I have regularly estimated 4 miles per hour while charging on a 120v line and that is also very accurate.

    I posted earlier on my feeling that the fuel "gauge" and the EV estimate were more different than I would expect. Several folks pointed out that they are different things; one being an estimate based on previous driving history and the other an actual measurement of the charge status of the battery. I wasn't convinced. Today I ran a test that changed my mind. I had the impression that the gauge was falling much more slowly than the EV range estimate. This isn't really true. When I carefully observe the actual operation, the two are consistent. They are not the same, since they are measuring different things, but the difference is not as dramatic as I originally thought.
    You have to realize that they're measuring different things. If your current trip matches your driving patterns in the recent past, the EV range estimate will be pretty accurate, but realize that it is affected by things like outside temperature and the amount of heat or AC you're using compared to what you've used while it was building history for the estimate. The battery gauge is just that - a measure of the amount of charge left in the battery. I expect that the information displayed by HondaLink is an echo of what the panel says, but with a delay if you haven't just refreshed.

    I don't know how the Volt was calculating number of miles remaining. How accurate was it? I do not trust any of them implicitly enough to put myself at danger of running out of fuel.

    Fuel gauge declined 6 bars, 1.33 miles per bar

    Fuel gauge: 3 bars
    EV range: 0
    Drove 5 miles
    EV range declined 5 miles
    Fuel gauge declined 3 bars, 1.66 miles per bar

    Odometer: 1460 (almost immediately)
    ICE on
    Fuel gauge: 2 bars
    EV range: 0

    Starting EV range was 34 miles; actually drove 27, was driving at a faster speed than usual and using more heat, so this seems within the bounds of reason.
