Anyone know why Honda arranged the wipers as they did, instead of the more common left-center mounting? Sent from my iPad using Inside EVs
It seems more effective to me for each wiper to sweep water to the outside, rather than the wiper on the right to push water towards the center for the other wiper to sweep off. I believe you need to have a certain minimum windshield proportion (taller than usual) for the opposing wipers to fit, which is why most cars tend to have the normal arrangement.
First rainy day with the Clarity. We were laughing how it aggressively kicks the water to the sides of the car. Tough luck if you are walking by. I did notice that the left wiper blade did on occasion hit the A pillar when the wind was hitting at a certain direction at 65 mph. Will watch this carefully over the weeks.
One requirement is that the windshield in front of the camera be cleared by the wipers. I'm to lazy to use a string and a crayon to draw the patterns that different arrangements of wipers would cover.
