Problems with Honda Link lately?

    No issues with Honda Link since August when I got the car. But in the last week or so, I've noticed Honda Link is almost useless.

    I keep getting the 'three dots' and then a message saying can't retrieve information. Sometimes after 5-10 minutes it does connect.

    Maybe more units got sold and Honda servers are getting swamped? My car is connected to wifi so it would be ideal if the car and app could talk via wifi instead of relying on cell towers and Honda back end servers..

    Anyone else noticed this being a problem lately?

    Car locate hasn't been working. Sometimes I get a long loading time.

    Not working at all for me today. Just getting the dots of death in the app.....

    Was working this morning (pre-conditioning started message) but yeah its not connecting right now and also on Wifi.

    Servers might be done or something.

    I'm on an iPhone and haven't had any issues. I usually check it at least once a day.

    I just checked my HL and lo and behold I got the three dots. Tried finding my car on the app and it couldn't find it in my garage but when I returned to the dashboard it magically loaded up. I have had little problems with this app. Hope this app doesn't fritz out when I leave the car in the garage while I do my snowbird thing for 3 months.

    Just checked and it’s working. Guessing that the Honda servers were down.

    I've had a few issues lately too. I was wondering if it was related to the cold weather, maybe the car's reception is being affected by the cold?

    Good question. I hadn't thought much about the HondaLink app reliability lately. Thinking back though I find it has gotten better and better over the months. Other than (apparently) a server being down for a few hours last week it has been working well.

    I use the find my car feature often to see where my wife is. It works quickly and accurately. In fact I think I use many of the HondaLink features regularly and it has been good.

    Same here. Just started a few days ago. I can't imagine cold weather has anything to do with it, you think?

    I have owned my car since July 2018. The hondalink app works well most of the time in terms of finding out the current state of charge etc. Until about 1 week ago, the preconditioning was working well too. It would turn on and warm up the car at the scheduled time. In the past week or so, that function hasn't worked at all. It will start preconditioning [PC] then immediately stop. This is in spite of the fact the weather is cooler [ 50's] rather than usual 60's. It also seems to immediately stop the preconditioning when I start it via the app not on a pre-scheduled basis as well as when I start the PC using the keyless remote. the battery of the car is fully charged and doors etc remain closed. So-it might be more of an issue with pre-conditioning rather than the hondalink app.

    Several times today I got the "Unable to Retrieve Data" error message. I've never had that before, just the message that said the preconditioning failed to start.

    Yes, the app has been flaky - cannot retrieve info error - for the past week including today morning.

    Honda link worked all day today but now isn’t working tonight. Luckily for me it worked long enough for me to start preconditioning. Today was the first time I actually got it to work and heated the car from 39 to 61 in five minutes. I really hope this works all winter.

    I called Hondalink and they confirmed they are having issues with their servers. There was no Estimated Time to Resolve. Hondalink has no website where they will inform customers of server issues, so if the service is down, the only way to confirm is to call their number, sit on hold and then ask when you get someone on the line.

    Hondalink seems to be working again this morning but then again, the car is in the garage.
