I just got my Clarity PHEV (white touring) last week and I am looking for a tempered glass screen protector for the 8" screen. I cannot find anything listed on Amazon for our car model. Is anyone using a screen protector they can recommend?

I have never used a screen protector on the navigation screens in my previous cars but the one on the Clarity seems so shiny and prone to fingerprints and scratching. I still haven't removed the factory plastic sheet from the screen...

I'm working with a Chinese manufacturer. I sent them measurements. They will be sending me a tempered glass sample.

I just have a little cloth in the armrest to clean off smudges when it gets dirty.

Wouldn't you lose the touchscreen ability with a tempered glass protector??

Hopefully not. I have glass screen protectors on our phones, my touchscreen mirror-less cameras where they work fine. I like the glass type because they are smooth to the touch (some plastic versions are sticky), they stay transparent over time, and are easy to apply and remove.

I want one for the Clarity just in the slight case that something might come in contact with the screen that could scratch it.

I received the Clarity glass screen protector today and installed it. I sent some pretty precise dimensions to the manufacturer but they decided to ship a protector that doesn't reach the edges of the physical display. Perhaps they already had a protector they decided would be okay, or perhaps they just decided to cut it small on purpose.

As we know the actual image on the screen is much smaller than the display unit. The bezel is quite large. So the protector works fine. The issue I have with it has nothing to do with the prototype sent to me. The problem is the edge of the glass protector radiates light so there is a rectangle of light around the whole edge. Any glass protector would be the same.

I'm not sure I'll leave the protector on the screen. At a minimum I'll leave it on for a few days. If it bothers me I'll pull it off. I would really hate to have a scratch or mark on the display; that would drive me crazy. That's the reason I use protectors on my displays. In this case it will be a choice of having the less than perfect protector or taking a chance with future damage.

The touch sensitivity is not effected at all. It works fine.

If anybody wants one I see they are not yet available on Amazon. I'll see if Ruiya will tell me when it will be available.

@jdonalds - does it give you any glare and fingerprint relief - right now those are the biggies for me?

I stopped using screen protectors on all of my devices, even the new iPhone X (but it does have a nice plastic rubber case).

I just wipe the Clarity screen occasionally with a microfiber cloth and glass cleaner as needed.

    I have dirty hands...
Worse still, the glare is pretty bad (compounded by the smudges and the bright SW sun coming through the windows - I may need to look into tinting).

I haven't noticed glare with or without the screen protector. I'll try to pay better attention. I'll also note the fingerprints but we keep a microfiber cloth in the car and often wipe away the fingerprints. I'm not certain I can evaluate if it's better or worse.

That's exactly what I do. I had tried a screen protector on my Tesla S's huge screen. I used it for about a week, but eventually took that off too since I thought it just looked better without a protector.

I don't even use a case or protector on my iPhone X. I always carry it 'naked' to show the beauty of the unit. I've never dropped a phone (I should never have said that!!!).

I just drove the car. I still don't have an issue with glare off the 8" screen, but it's a cloudy/rainy day. But I don't think the glass screen protector is any better for fingerprints than the Clarity screen.

When I got my car tinted, the installer told me he puts the clear paint protection adhesive plastic on the navi screens for the local dealer. So I gave it a shot and I'm impressed. There are no fingerprints and no distortion or haze from the adhesive.

They had to put in custom dimensions for the cutout since their software didn't have the pattern for the Clarity screen. Turns out that the bottom edge is not perfectly straight so there's a small gap at the bottom but I don't think it's noticeable unless you were looking for it.

That sounds better than the glass protector I have. I'm curious how well it will hold up after a year or so.

I'm beginning to think mine is more of a smudge than glare problem - better stay away from KFC...

I received a new glass screen protector from HUAHAO. I know many of you don't think a screen protector is necessary. I just put them on any screen I have. I have them on the back of my digital cameras, our phones, and now the Clarity.

The first screen protector HUAHAO sent a while back was too small. This one is sized perfectly for the Clarity screen. Glass screen protectors are very easy to install and remove. They don't interfere with the touch screen behavior, and don't deteriorate over time like soft plastic ones I've had. They are as easy to clean as the screen itself.

I've asked Huahao how to order one. They are not yet available on amazon.

The only problem I have with it is it is like a light pipe in that it shows light all around the edge of the glass. When the LCD screen is turned off it is quite visible. When the LCD screen is on I don't notice it at all.

What I do notice is for some reason dust is greatly amplified in photos. I couldn't see any of the dust that shows up in these photos.

The good news is if the screen is off you are probably not in the car and if the screen is on you probably are in the car, so it shouldn't bother you for long periods of time.

Does it cut down on glare? We notice a considerable amount of glare at times that I suspect will only get worse during the warmer months.
