I'm a brand new owner likely going to buy an extended warranty through Hyannis (8 year, 100,000 miles) and was wondering what folks thought about their maintenance plans, as follows: M46 4yrs. 60,000 miles $885.00

I wish the Honda required maintenance items were presented in a more comprehensible format. I guess I mean in chart form, chronologically. I don't see that in either the guide or the manual. If anyone could point me to such or if anyone has compiled it themselves and would share, I would appreciate it. (I noted the advice to check the oil every time the battery is charged, i.e., daily for me!)

I just bought one last Friday and am also going with the ext warranty from Hyannis. I put quite a few miles on cars so will probably go with D82. I put this spreadsheet together to help analyze the cost per 000 miles of coverage and also per year if this helps.

Does anyone have a copy of the extended warranty coverage. All I can find online are "overviews". Even where some more detailed information is provided about coverage, it frequent includes the work "may" cover.

Dave C, Thanks for that. Your costs are very slightly higher that mine; perhaps because I bought the base model.

I had the same thought and received this yesterday. It provides more benefits than I expected.

Must be as it goes by VIN and mine is the touring.

Thanks, Dave C. That is just what I needed.

Perhaps the 3yr/36K mi. standard 'free' warranty should be figured in to give a more accurate cost analysis.

My mistake, Dave C. Your prices for Touring are for the '0 deductible' option and are the same as mine for the base model, either that or coincidentally the Touring prices for the '100 deductible' are the same as for the base '0 deductible.'

This! Subtract the 3/36 factory warranty from your spreadsheet figures to get the actual cost/yr and cost/mile. You're really only buying coverage for anything over the factory warranty.

Good point. Therefore, the $1300 8 year/100K warranty is really a 5 year/100K warranty. In that case you are paying about $260 per year after the initial 3 years. I don't think that it's that unreasonable to pay that for peace of mind. I had a honda civic and there were several years that I wound up paying than that for various issues.
