No secret it was a bit of a bumpy road for the 2017 MY Pacifica Hybrid getting to market (lots of stop-starts, a recall, etc). The 2018s (some of which had been built but awaiting a QC hold) finally got released in late September, and have now started to arrive in volume for week 2 of October.

Not sure exactly how many copies were built before Chrysler's Windsor plant went into shutdown again for ~4/5 weeks (retool for new saftey reqs on the Caravan), but so far at least ~600 copies or so have been released in a very little amount of time...so if you really want one of the 33-mile extended range vans, you can actually get one now with a little effort.

Random 411: the Windsor plant went down October 2nd, re-start is the 30th.

  3. I was looking at this situation when the September sales numbers came out. I noticed they actually sold some 475 in September an 425 in August. Was that just inventory sitting around various stores, then?

I know I've been waiting on a call back from my local dealer since at least August about when they will receive stock.

I have only seen a few WAYMO Google self drive Pacifica Hybrids. They are very rare and not many EVs are available in Arizona where I live. I hope that will change as the 8 Western states join together to build the charging corridor as was recently in the news. We will see. Most automakers just do compliance cars.

I picked up my Pacifica Hybrid on December 1st. I had a very hard time finding one. As a matter of fact, the dealership tried to transfer 3-4 of them before we finally got one.

  6. Congrats on your new vehicle!
There's really not much information out there, so feel free to start a new thread with your impressions (and maybe pics!). I had big hopes for the Pacifica Hybrid, but it seems they only sold 4,597 in 2017. Now, they have only have about 1,723 vehicles out there for sale (according to a Cars.com search).

Anyway, it'd be great to hear about it from an owner's perspective.

Being that I have had my Volt for nearly 7 years, most of what the i have experienced with the Pacifica Hybrid has not been much of a surprise.

  9. Perfect, then. A new Pacifica owner with lots of PHEV experience. :)

We still only see these as Self Driving fleet vehicles for Waymo. It would be nice to get one in Phoenix for testing. I keep watching but they are still rare. Maybe the 2018 numbers will climb. I haven't heard anything about Chrysler coming out with any other plugin Hybrids let alone a 100% Electric. They did make history with their 1st plugin Hybrid VAN !

I have only seen them in dealerships. But they are difficult to discern from a distance is a Pacifica is a hybrid or not. Not as obvious as a Tesla or Bolt or Volt or Leaf, etc.
