    FYI all.

    Navigation Update is available.

It was saying delayed until Sept 15th for a while, and then it was delayed an additional day or so.

When I first saw this post, I thought no way, as I just did the 2019 map update less than 2 weeks ago. So I plugged in my USB drive to my pc (Garmin Express) and sure enough, it said there is an update, downloaded the update, take the drive to my car, plug in the drive and this is what it said. Anyone know what's going on? I did cancel the update.

My guess is that you were somehow able to download the current map update before Garmin got nervous and put it on hold for a couple of weeks. Then, after checking whatever made them nervous and finding it was OK, Garmin made the update--without changing the version number--available again.

My map-updating strategy is to wait until I finally get ready to drive my Clarity further than 25 miles from home. That will happen next month and I'll finally use HV Mode for the first time. Hopefully, the sound of the long-dormant engine won't drown out the voice of the Waze lady, because I trust her more than Garmin.

When it says to plug into the USB port, which USB port should I plug into as there is two under the center console.

Don’t know if it makes a difference or not but I use the driver’s side port and it works every time.

I used the same port as Ken with the same success. :)

Is this update worth getting? What's different?

If your home street was missing on the last update, it would definitely be worth the trouble for you to upgrade. I can't find any list of what's different and doubt Garmin ever publishes one. They just notify us a new update is available and ask us to trust them that the update is worth the effort it took them to create it.

I hope your home street got added if it was missing before.

Did the update provide anything noticeable? Just a minor map update or?

Garmin licenses the maps from a vendor so I doubt that they know the changes. I’m in Boston and this release just recognized a major highway exit redesign from 2017 by showing it on the map. What is weird is the the software doesn’t seem to know the exit exists and still routes me to a different exit, recalculating my route for a minute or so while it thinks I’ve gone the wrong way. Since the traffic reports are useless on the navigation I’ve long gotten used to waze (or google or Apple maps) all of which are better. The car navigation comes in handy for the few times I lose my cell signal.
