I was driving in EV mode yesterday and I heard a beep and the emissions light came on. I havent had the ICE come on in over 100 miles so not sure why. I went home and disconnected the negative lead from the battery for 15 minutes (very easy with one bolt). I trickle charged the 12v battery after I hooked up the neg lead back up. Cleared the error code and everything seems to be back to normal. The manual states that unplugging the battery resets the emission codes so I thought I would try it. If it pops up again I WILL immediately take it to the dealership. Just thought I would share.

Thanks for sharing. I sure would have wanted to see what the code was before clearing.

I'd invest in an inexpensive OBDII reader. Works on other cars too.

@AnthonyW is beta testing one that will be specific for our PHEV Clarity. That’s the one I will get when it’s finally programmed for all the unique data of our Claritys.

Yeah, our OBDII connector is odd, huh? Allstate Drivewise isn't compatible with it, nor is the Automatic Bluetooth monitor. Here's hoping.

Are you speaking of the physical connector or the pinout? I had no trouble connecting the BAFX OBDII (sold on Amazon, for example) using Torque Pro, but there's not much PHEV- or Clarity-specific info. Agree with hopes for more from future products.

Correct. I should have been more clear. Yes the lack of car/speed/braking info appears to be troublesome for some of the better connectors out there to take advantage of.

My "Emissions System Problem" alert came on last night. About 545 miles into this tank of gas, 5,300 miles over all. The first time I got bit by (what I hope is) a faux warning.

I have an appt. on Monday - soonest they could see me - to get it checked out. I'm going to use the car in EV mode only till then.
