Or maybe the bumper sticker I once saw on a Subaru Baja: "at least it's not an Aztec".

I have to admit it's unnerving to get the multiple warning lights bug, or the charging fault bug (both of which I've gotten). Driving with a CEL light on on such a complex vehicle is not comforting, even though I knew it'd eventually go off on its own.

It's like the boy who cried wolf. I fear if there's a genuine fault causing the light to go on that needs attention right away, I'll just keep driving it.

Have you had the Service Bulletin 18-079 software update for multiple warning lights applied yet? It’s supposed to fix what you described.

Not yet, waiting until my first service since I'm in the mountains and the Honda dealer is 70 miles away.

Until then, "I'm gonna let it shine" if needed.

The day they relegated the steady check engine light to mean your gas cap is probably loose, the importance of the CEL was permanently deprecated. Now it seems to be the blinking CEL we should not ignore. With all the circuits and logic built in, it's a shame the diagnostics aren't more consumer-friendly, but some service bays thrive on the uncertainty.
