I live in Texas and would like to know if there are any out of state dealerships that offer no-nonsense pricing on the base model. I do not mind paying shipping charges so long as I get a great price.

Even if they don't arrange shipping themselves, there are companies that transport cars for private individuals that you could get.

I'd be afraid that a dealer might want to give you the least desirable car they have on their lot. Like if one has a little bit of lot damage on it, you'd then have to go through the hassle of trying to arrange with the dealer to get it repaired at a local dealer.

It's a good idea if it can save you a lot of money, but if it was me I think I'd fly out and drive the car back if the savings would pay for that expense.

https://www.vicbaileyhonda.com/ in Spartanburg SC offers no hassle reduced price but you can still negotiate. They dealt with me straight up. Like you, I live in another state and got OTD price over email before I drove to the dealership for the visual inspection and finalize the deal. No hard sell or shenanigans when it was finalized. They handled all the out of state paperwork and only had $299 closing fee.

They also don't have dealer add on BS they charge extra for. Mine did come with mud flaps, trunk liner and wheel locks but no additional fee. MSRP minus their discount you see on the internet is the price before you negotiate. Pretty straight forward as stealerships go.

I asked for build date to ensure the car I was looking at hadn't been sitting on the lot more than 3 months. Traction battery was low but did run on HV just fine for the 75 mile drive home. They do have a charger there so like most other dealerships they don't seem to know enough about the new fangdangled PHEV to do it justice...but I got a decent price and polite service.

Only caveat...not sure they stock the base...only had touring when I was looking which is what I wanted anywho.

    Good luck.

If you buy out of state, you'll be missing out on the $2,500 TX EV rebate: https://www.tceq.texas.gov/airquality/terp/ld.html
