Good joke, my friend! Tesla got the boot from MS and GS. Check the video of the expert in the Lucid motors funding thread.
There is a special meaning of 420 in the Indian penal code.

Mods, can you bring back the "Is Musk too big to jail' thread? It's all the more relevant now.
Billions of dollars in losses to be paid by Tesla to compesate the investors who lost because of the fraudulent tweet.

Pushy, thanks for asking. I'm fine. Never believed it anyway.

Yeah, hopefully he lost Grimes, that would be a great start to getting away from the drugs...

Man, this is really getting interesting, I wish the stock had gotten up to a point for me to re-engage my short... The lawyers, are going to go nuts this next week...

I love that you assume PuPu will be here to say "hi" in this thread...

Well, I have couple put options that I didn't sell when it hit $296 recently. I was looking for an opportunity to sell.
Hopefully this Monday will be that. They are for Mar 2019.
I'm not worried about my short position. There is very little time value in it. Bought puts only because I couldn't short more on the "funding secured" pop.

Even today, in the interview with Dana Hull, Emily said, all the experts are saying it's impossible. People only believed the man because he has landed a rocket.

Elon just empowered the shorts. The shorts are more than smartish, basically called Elon's bluff.

Hollywood lifestyle has really gotten to him. All those worshippers and yes man has turn Elon into a basket case.

I think all you shorts are evil. I'm going to stay out of this thread.

Exactly... I even have question to whether he is even really incredibly smart? or just had talented people around him? He ain't no Bill Gates,or Steve Jobs, that is for sure...

Why is shorting an overvalued stock evil? Its just betting the stock is not worth what is is currently selling for. I will only short Tesla over 360...

Yeah, I think he get a lot of credit for spaceX but industry insiders tell me he is just as foolish over there, its the people behind him that execute.

    Next week will be interesting...

I like to make money doing something positive, instead of preying on negative. I only invest in index funds because buying and selling individual stock is gambling.

Fundamentally, I would agree with you, but feeding, and securing my family is job 1 for me, and if Elon tweets the stock up opening an opportunity for me, I am going to jump on it. Shorting TSLA on Aug 7th was the first short in my life, but there will be more, I am preparing for when this crazy bull market ends, I am going to short several companies, including most likely a few companies I have held long successfully.

You realize short sellers do not really affect the price, they are just betting the other way then longs... It like an over and under bet, its not really wicked.

But it appears you also like to call everyone else using any different investment strategy "evil". :)
    LOL. Talk about narrow mindedness.

How do you know shorting is bad? Do you have basic understanding about the role of shorts? Or is it just based on hearsay?
Let me give you an example. Say 1M shares were shorted when Elon caused the fraudulent pop. Without those shorts, longs who bought might have paid even more, say $410 per share. With 1M shares shorted during the pop by shorts who didn't believe the BS, the same longs got an opportunity to buy at $370-$387. Is this a good thing or bad thing?

Let's not forget that Tesla shorts only recently did a marvelous detective work in proving that Elon lied in NYT article about dashing in and out of his brother's wedding and lied about his 120 hour work week. Why is pointing out the lies evil?

Do you think the shorts did a bad thing pointing out to people that the tweet was a fraud, and thus saving many longs from falling into this trap?

I think the real evil is sending out baseless market manipulating tweets during an open session. Punishing such evil is called "justice", not "evil" . :)

I agree with you 100%. I think Elon tweeted intentionally to burn the shorts, and was probably somewhat successful in hurting some of those guys who are human, trying to feed their family, just like you and me. The SEC has laws to protect the integrity of the open market, it is not the Elon show. If it can be shown that Elon tweeted to hurt the shorts with intent, he should be forced to issue them stock to make up their losses, and same for the longs that rushed in to buy stock on the rise, that ultimately got absolutely clobbered in the next 2 weeks. Pay or Prison in my opinion... Thanks again Elon, you screwing the other guys, created an opportunity for me.

Well, I think the shorts are typically "smartish" and more advanced traders and not the small potatoes. I don't think you, who is buying a Jaguar I-Pace is worrying about feeding the family :) Neither am I :) That part seems like a little dishonest to me, like Tesla sending out picture of Elon's couch and sleeping bag paid by others to all the employees to garner sympathy :) But it is an investment strategy, like many others. It can be used as a hedge against any economic downturn also.

Shorting can be dangerous. Theoretical losses are infinite, but practically the account will be closed due to margin calls.
Shorting is a legal trading practice since I think almost 100 years. Calling that evil in a blanket statement is ignorance.
The role of shorting is to increase liquidity, which brings stability to the market place.
Of course, it can also speed up the downfall.

As for Elon's meme that shorts are doing the damage: that's just rubbish. Look at the longs of Tesla spreading all kinds of rumors and misinformation. Just last few days this complete lunatic from ARK investment has been saying Tesla is worth $4000! What idiocy. Hopefully no dumbish investor bought Tesla based on this lunatic's WAG.

If Elon lied, then he should go to jail. In reality, multi-billionaires don't go to jail.

I've called Elon a liar multiple times. SolarCity bail out, $35,000 Model 3, self driving, 100,000 Model 3 by end of 2017, dual motor cheaper, etc... The reason I didn't buy the Model 3 was because of Elon's unethical behavior. I will never support Tesla with my money.

Having said all that, never bet against a genius. You'll lose.

I bet and won... 25% in 2 weeks is pretty good. Actually, I have not lost in a stock transaction since 2008, then again I have only made about 50 in that time frame.

BTW, do you have proof Elon is a genius? Since we know he is not a real engineer...

Charlie Munger and the 2014 Daily Journal Annual Meeting - Part Four
    .
    Part Three

Q: What are your thoughts about Elon Musk [CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity] and what he’s doing?

Munger: I think Elon Musk is a genius and I don’t use that word lightly. I think he’s also one of the boldest men that ever came down the pike. Put me down as saying I’ve always been afraid of the guy whose IQ is 190 and he thinks it’s 250. I like to think there’s a little of that risk with Elon. He is a certified genius.
