  3. Hi, I would love to agree but it's not that simple. I compete in an EV against ICE cars in tarmac rallying etc. There is a level of interest in my car because it is different. But once the novelty wears off so does the interest. As a driver the EV is awesome. But it sends spectators to sleep. Spectators want fire and brimstone. They want fire breathing monsters. They want drivers to struggle to keep their vehicles on track. They want the rumble. They want to hear the vehicles approach from a distance. While I think EVs will overtake ICE in so many ways, spectator motorsports is one area in which they will struggle. Maybe we will find some EV solutions to these items but so far I am not seeing it.

  4. Oh and by the way. I am not raising these things as if to say it will never happen. I am raising them as items to be discussed and hopefully solved.

  5. Totally agree. I attended a rally event just last weekend, and what made it exciting was hearing and then seeing the cars going through a hairpin and flying up a hill. Talking to the driver teams at the service pitts later, they say it is all about low end torque and traction (higher weight with smaller width tires). EVs should be great at that.
