Infamous noise-reducing plugs and more...

    I haven't picked up my Clarity yet, but I'm trying to compile a list of things to ask the dealership about:

    -ensure the road-noise reducing plugs are installed at PDI
    -full charge & full gas tank
    -service bulletin fixes applied
    -Sirius XM radio initialized
    -TPMS initialized
    -paper owners manual ordered

    Am I missing anything else important to look for or ask for ahead of time?

    Do you have a smartphone you'd like the dealer to help you connect?

    My salesperson was very thorough with the delivery, and went through a big checklist form (I think it's Honda) of customization options.

    The service department was in charge of the PDI, filling the gas and charging the car. Mine ended up being charged to 50%.

    One thing I did not check was the pressure on the tires. For some reason Honda did not put in sensors that would report the pressure and instead rely on speed differences when one is low. Doing that now...

    If you want them to show you Carplay, bring your charging cable...

    No, that I'll do myself... I've had several cars with hands-free/Sync/etc. I tried and was able to successfully pair my phone on the tester model that we tried at the Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre.

    I think I'll probably do the AndroidAuto set up myself too.

    Also make sure they go over the PDI (Pre Delibery Inspection doc) with you, referenced in link above. Have them show you the recorded Battery Pack Capacity signal which shows how good the HV battery is compared to its theoretical max of ~55Ah. Also have them give you the recorded test number for the 12v battery. And have them verify that the charge timer is off.
    All this is part of the PDI, along w installed the 4 noise reduction plugs.
    My dealer skipped a lot of this and im having to waste my time going back to have it done.
    We would also appreciate it if you would share the Battery Pack Capacity signal with us.

    The phone connection is generally pretty easy but connecting the HondaLink app tends to be more challenging. Mine took about a week to sync with the hondalink app, though Bluetooth was immediate

    OK thanks for letting me know, I wonder why it takes so long. I've downloaded the HondaLink app to my car already. (As well as PlugShare, Chargepoint, etc)..

    I've picked up a few new cars and always breezed through this stuff, "assuming" it was all done. Now I'm feeling very nervous about it being done correctly on the Clarity because it seems so involved and I'm not sure the dealers take this stuff as seriously as we do!

    Yes, your dealer has to submit your info to Honda and then it takes a week or more before HondaLink will let you register.

    FWIW, I purchased my car in the morning 2 days ago and was able to get the hondalink to work by the evening of the same day. I guess I was lucky!

    Is all depends on how quickly the dealer uploads your info. Until they do you’re dead in the water.

    Also you can’t order the free paper copies of the manuals until they put you in the system (USA only; Canadians go to dealer to order manuals according to one post).
    Also, if they miss-type your email and/or name, you’ll have problems.
    I could not get the confirmatory email for the manuals even after several tries. I then went to sales contract and used that spelling of my name and it worked. I speculate that along with correct VIN and email that your name has to match as well.
