Well I haven't had any problems with the Clarity till now. Thought I'd start a thread in case anyone had things they needed to know about or get help with. Me first.

I really like the idea of heating or cooling up to 30 minutes before getting in the car. That can be accomplished from the key fob or the HondaLink app. But mine simply doesn't work.

I learned that feature won't worked when using Level 1 charging. Today our Level 2 came on-line so I wanted to try the Remote Climate feature. All it did was blow cold air. After 10 minutes the temperature actually dropped from 44 to 43 degrees.

I made sure the car was set to 73 degrees and Auto was selected on the climate control before shutting the car off. Someone suggested that other Hondas are designed to bring the car to 72 degrees and that might be true with the Clarity also.

I then unplugged the car and gave the Remote Climate another try. Still cold air only.

Has anyone else tried that feature and gotten it to work? Are there any settings I need to be aware of?

I too would like to know exactly what temperature it brings it too. However I can say it did raise my temperature. This morning my car was 50 and after 15 or 20 minutes it went to 63.

Did you test it while in the car. I did and when it heats the car warmish air comes out the bottom of the seating area.

I tried both out of the car and then in the car. When the system comes on it blows air out of the vents above the 8" screen, but it continues to be cold air even after more than 5 minutes.

There may be something wrong with my car.

Perhaps I'll try the full 30 minutes to see what it does. Maybe five minutes isn't enough. But I'd expect a little change in the vent temperature.

Nope: I turned on the Remote Climate system and let it run for 23 minutes. I started by using the key fob, locked the doors, then started the system. I could hear the soft purr of the fan. 23 minutes later I opened the driver's door which shut the climate system off. The car temperature was the same as at the beginning of the test. I got in and again locked the doors with the key fob, started the climate system and there was nothing but cold air coming out of the vents.

I'm going to schedule an appointment with the Honda dealer and ask them to look into it.

I'd still be interested in any feedback on this issue.

Very strange. Did you put your hand under the steering wheel to see if you could feel air? If it is warming the car I don't think air should be coming out of the top screen vents.

When driving If you are warming your car in auto does it come out the top vents or bottom?

In Auto it comes out of the bottom.

I felt around and the only places air is coming from are the top vents above the 8" screen, and the vents for the rear seat on the back of the arm rest. There is also a little coming out of the side vent to the left of the steering wheel.

The fact that air is coming out of the top vents when normally hot air comes out of the bottom vents leads me to think your car is some how confused and is trying to cool the car more. Definitely not right.

No problem from day 1, mine goes to about 75F (as previously discussed).

Do you get the six blinks of the outside lights?

I just ran it now and looked at what temp it finally reached if i put the heater on high before turning off the car. It went to 75 after about 25 min.

Any chance you are turning it off by accident when checking to see if it works? Opening a door turns pre-conditioning off.

I was surprised by the open door thing. I think on the Volt it was when you actually started the car with the start button (if it had not gone off by itself before than). That was better, for example, if you went out to put something in the car ahead of time, you did not turn pre-conditioning off!

I was careful not to disturb the car while I ran the test. It was still running 23 minutes later when I did open the door.

Yes. The car appears to go through all of the expected steps. It just doesn't heat.

With all of your feedback I've made an appointment at the dealer to have them look at this issue.

I'm also planning to check fuses to see if any have blown. There are several fuse panels.

This is a shot in the dark, but might be worth a try: Check this climate page and check "OFF" for A/C: (also, at least on the iPhone Honda App, the app gives the cabin temperature during climate pre-conditioning.)

Ah, still may be worth a try to confirm A/C is off, but I just noticed that in "AUTO" both of the climate page A/C buttons go off ... (PHClarity2018 just posted this too, thanks)

Another idea, I have not been using eco mode, but I notice that if last used, next start up eco mode comes on. Try turning off eco mode before shutting down the car too. (so be in climate "AUTO" and "normal" mode, confirm that the eco icon on the driver display off).

Curious to hear what the dealer determines.

I've definitely experienced a blowing-cold-air effect after turning on climate on via Hondalink, but it's a transient thing limited to the first few minutes. Your situation clearly sounds different.

I wonder if the HondaLink phone support team might have a solution to offer. I experienced a hand-shaking issue when setting up the service which they were able to resolve via their technicians.
