    From what I read the rebate is for owners of a car.
    So if I order it now without a car but get it later I won't get the rebate.
    Is this right?

    From the program guide pdf:

    • EVCIP applications can be submitted when the applicant owns/leases a new or used eligible electric vehicle that is:
    • registered, plated and insured in Ontario in the applicant’s name;
    • located in Ontario; and,
    • for personal use.

    ...
    • EVCIP purchase and installation incentive applications must be received within 3 months (90 days) of the ESA certificate date.
    • If only applying for a purchase incentive, your application must be submitted within 3 months (90 days) of the charger purchase date.

    This will probably be gone soon as Ford just cut all the Ontario Green Fund program so no more windows, insulation etc

    So sounds like I got it right?
    If I have one installed now and the program gets cancelled before I get car ownership I am out of that rebate.

    If they cancel that I think I give up on the car purchase.

    From being ignored when trying to order one from one dealer, losing the 1K of rebate while being delayed by that and strung along by theAPA, being told I was getting a VIN before it was going into production and then told I am not until it gets on the lot , lengthy delays when I suspect the dealer probably already got one in and it went elsewhere......If this goes away I guess I am out. I could have bought A ev used months ago
