Whoa! That's...not good. Also, at the end where the owner tried to contact the company, he probably should have contacted the service center. Although, I guess the other owner is really the one who should be contacting service and asking why someone else can drive his car.
The story sounds like someone left their Tesla unlocked and in "valet" mode. This limit what the car can do but leaves it mostly open so the valet does not have to use the key. For example, I'm staying at the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas where you have to use valet parking mode: We want to avoid: Bob Wilson
