Care to share how you did this? I tried a few different things, even in expert mode, and could not get it to change from the standard 3...

Do you have a 2023? I just checked my Bimmercode notes and can’t see any reference there that I used Bimmercode.

I was just browsing through MyMini commands in the center screen when I came across the settings! I think they were 1,3 and 5. I do recall reading that BMW had stopped allowing this change, but perhaps it’s model year dependant?

If it’s a clay lube as well as a detergent, it probably also works ok as a rinseless wash.

I just got my canvas back delivered and installed - really really nice product. Nothing like the floppy cheap ones with clips and straps going everywhere.

What kind of EVA foam pad product did you use? I harness and buckle my guy in but I just know he's going to slide around.

I got a roll of EVA foam from a local place (but Amazon has plenty of options as well) with the rough width and length for the back of the mini, about 1/2" thick. I cut it to size to fit the contours of the back with the seats down. I don't remember the exact dimensions, but it's not cheap so I wouldn't recommend buying too much more than you need.

Mine is a 2022. So you are able to change this on yours through settings? Somehow I assumed it was a Bimmercode thing, didn't even think to look through settings within the infotainment. Will check after work!

I wrote down which changes I made in BimmerCode in case I have to redo them in the future, but I may have missed one!

No one was more surprised than me to find the settings in the car’s menu.

I tried to set the correct magnetic zone for the mirror, but it didn't respond to pushing or holding the button on the back as described in the owner's manual. Is there something wrong with the button, or is the manual out-of-date/incorrect?

What is the "magnetic zone" for the mirror? I searched the PDF of the Owners Manual for magnetic and the mirror didn't come up.

Oh, now I see you're referring to the compass settings. Haven't tried to change those.

Yes, compass setting. To make sure that, e.g., N is really true north.

ETA: Doh! I missed this when reading the manual on my phone:

"Various functions can be called up by pressing the control button with a pointed object, such as the tip of a ballpoint pen or similar object."

Edward Scissorhands I am not, so that's why it didn't work.

Hmm, well unless I'm just that incompetent I do not have that option anywhere in my settings. If you get the time, let me know how to get there within the menu screens and I'll verify. Would love to have more than the standard 3 blinks!

What BEVs have come through your department? Do you work on them? What do your co-workers think of your MINI Electric? Do any of them care enough about cars to ask for a test drive? Will you upgrade to an electric Boxster/Cayman (or whatever alpha-numeric acronym Porsche decides to affix)?

I’ve worked on lots of Teslas but more bmw i3 and i8. They are starting to get on in years. A/C compressors seems to be the big one on both. Clients seem more impressed that i actually have an EV rather than coworkers.

no upgrades planned for the moment and I’m sure that BEV Porsche list is already full

Well I'll be, there it is! For some reason I didn't think to check exterior lighting...Worked like a charm. Thanks!

I just bought some plastic "pockets" from Amazon which fit into the door close holes on my Cooper SE (F56) very useful

Went for a long drive in a snow storm lol.

It wasn’t snowing anymore when I left home to visit a friend who lives out in the sticks, and the road crews are generally very efficient. Wasn’t difficult to get to his place, used about 35% to go 62 km (39 miles), not bad considering highway speeds, slippery road snot conditions, and it was -9°C (16°F) for that leg. I left his place an hour later, heading across the border to my PO Box, and that’s when the heavy snow started and while I wasn’t doing freeway speeds anymore, the back country roads are getting worse and worse but it was too late to turn around so I headed to my post office and by the time I got back to my usual DC charging station I was at 3% left! I’m still about 50 miles from home. So the remaining ⅔ of the trip really weren’t that efficient but again, considering the conditions, I’m still very pleased.

The back end of the car is a PITA though, the taillights and license plate get absolutely plastered with stucco snow and dirt an inch thick within a few hundred yards.

Oh, and just my luck: this is my usual DC station for this regular trip I take, and I pulled up and there was a Kona using the 100 kW box, and the 50 kW box I normally use is actually missing, replaced by an orange traffic cone. Lol. So I had to wait about 15 minutes for the other user to finish up, and now I’ve been plugged in for about 15 minutes and I’m at 30%, needing about 55% to get home safely at freeway speeds.
