Scheduled charging is no longer working for us. Our 2018 Clarity used to charge at midnight, as scheduled. I have updated the app. We have now scheduled the charge time to begin at 9pm. But when we get home and plug in the car, it starts charging right away during peak electrical times, rather than waiting till the scheduled time and clicking on. Anyone else experiencing this?
Can’t you schedule charging from inside the car as well? Also I have an EVSE that lets you set a timer to start charging. It is selectable for charging amps, too. It was less than $200 on eBay (I’m sure it was made in China but I really like it).
I would not trust the app and check that setting in the car itself. (Could you pls post a link on the charger with timer?)
Is there a Charger/EVSE and timer involved in the original story? It sounds as though Hondalink (the app) is not being cooperative.
@Landshark asked: "Is there a Charger/EVSE and timer involved in the original story? It sounds as though Hondalink (the app) is not being cooperative." Yes HondaLink was the issue for the OP. I was trying to give him a workaround with an EVSE or the setup option in the car. I've never used the timer functions with this EVSE, so if anyone wants me to test it to make sure it works with the Clarity, I will do so. Just send me a message or request it in this thread. This is the EVSE I bought from this seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403776068483 (says used, but the one I bought appeared new. I used the make offer option to buy mine) Here is one listed as new: https://www.ebay.com/itm/374117882356 It is selectable for 16, 24, 32, and 40A Delay is selectable for 0 to 12 hours in hourly increments. Charging time is selectable from 1 to 12 hours in hourly increments.
You're right -- I scheduled the charging from the car, no problem. Thanks! I had forgotten about that. In the past the app worked for me, but now it's not. (My EVSE doesn't have a timer - I went for simplicity, since my car and app had timers.)
