Hello everyone! Question for fellow Canadians (or anyone who knows the answer!) in this group, is there a way for us to track the build online like miniusa? I received my production number a few days ago but no VIN yet. Sorry if this question has already been asked, I tried searching but didn’t find any answers. Thanks in advance!

I'm not seeing any new car entries after July 1, 2022. Is that correct?

Sadly no. You have to rely on your dealer for updates.

The last entry for "Deposit Date if Any" is 7/1/2022. Is that what you are seeing?

For that column, yes. Scroll over to the right.

  10. Finally delivered on 22 July and tinted on 25th July...

NJ announced they will provide $4000 EV rebate the point of sale starting July 25th... I'm now wondering did I miss it by couple of days? I ordered on 19th March 2022 - was I eligible for it?

My wife put an order in for a Mini SE on 7/20/22 with the Mini dealership in Nashville. We were told that our order was in the "Order Bank" at Mini and to expect a 4 month wait for production to be scheduled and for us to receive a production number. Is this consistent with the experience of others who have placed an order in the last few weeks?

It depends on dealer allocations.. high volume dealers get more and may be able to get an order processed sooner, but 4 months exactly was my wait for a production number. Order in February, prod # and VIN in June.

Received production number and VIN from dealership exactly two months after deposit. That is Mini of Reno. They have been very good so far, except for the markup. But not much competition in these parts, and Portland was almost a thousand more than that.

All done! Might perhaps post additions to other “first impressions” threads, but some bullet points here:

    • Active shutters are loose on the near side, pointed it out to the Delivery Genius, but as my delivery was after the service department closed for the weekend, it’ll be done another time (see below).
    • Only one pair of mud flaps came in on time, so none were installed and I’ll have to set up an appointment once the other set arrives — at which time the shutters will be sorted.
    • Window tint films were applied yesterday, so I was advised not to open windows or pano roof until Sunday arvo.
    • Mine came shod with the Goodyear Eagle F1s. No complaints.
    • I received both the old L1 chargers, as well as the new BMW Flexible Fast Charger, along with its mounting bracket and holster. Both are very flimsy-looking. Ordering the Grizzl-E Smart EVSE tonight.
    • As others have noted, no rear mats. Whatever; I quickly installed the full 3D Kagu mats set, and they are fantastic.
    • It’ll take me some time to acquaint myself with all the features and quirks.
    • Quick iDrive head-scratcher: MINI’s iDrive controller scrolls anti-clockwise, unintuitive for left hand drivers, but CarPlay selections go clockwise like in Bimmers. So dumb.
    • The tires drone much louder than I expected at highway speeds
All in all, what an exciting first few hours!

I only have delivery picture I got was taken by the Delivery Genius, and it’s not very good. My sister took a better one on her driveway when I stopped in to show off, but I’m also not very photogenic and don’t like seeing myself in pictures, so I will take some hero shots of the car this weekend! ;)

It didn’t take long for me to be hooked on the one pedal driving and trying to finesse staying in the ready zone instead of pissing off drivers behind me. But there is so much going on in the car, that, while I was having fun, I found myself easily distracted by everything, and focussing on that ready zone a bit too much.

Yup. Have only had it for 2 weeks and we’ve already put 1,711 kms on it . Lots of mini-road trips just because we can.

And an interesting development today. We put a pre-order deposit on a Kia EV6 in April but ordering still hasn’t reopened in . We decided to order the Mini SE as an interim since the EV6 is rumored to be a 2 year wait. We finally got to test drive an EV6 today and aside from having a longer ranger and ridiculous power we actually prefer our Mini SE. The EV6 is a similar height just longer and the quality of the Mini is so much better. So we’re likely going to cancel our deposit and keep the Mini SE long term. We’ll instead look at replacing our gas truck for longer range trips in a few years when something suitable is available.

I wasn’t planning to do it this evening, but while my wife began her evening regimen, I went to visit the car in the garage. I had the urge to see how easily the lower dash panel pulled off. It’s very well anchored with solid clips, but with care, it pulled off so easily that I didn’t take any pictures. I reckon I had the panel off and the switch module unplugged in 60 seconds.

As hinted in a couple of threads on NAM, I started by pulling at the bottom right corner, and eased the clips out one by one, counter-clockwise. The areas that need care to avoid scratching the panel or adjacent surfaces are obvious. With the panel off, there’s about three inches of slack to reach in and unplug the connector. Now free of the car, it’s easy to see that the switch module is held in with four plastic tabs. They are easily pried apart with a ¼” flat screwdriver. The module is then popped off the back of the panel. Start installing the new switch with the tabs on the same side as the locating post, and snap it tight, then install the panel in the reverse order.

I was just about to dive into coding the fogs, but realized my phone battery was at 6%. I’ll post a follow-up when I’m through it.

Great, keep it up . Perhaps you can start a new thread to make it easier to follow? “BimmerCode changes”?
