Curious: They're offering a lower 62KWA battery as an option.
Questions: Are the batteries interchangeable should one want to upgrade it should range needs change or if it's (eventually) sold?
and What is involved in battery replacement in these cars.
There's been alot of discussion on the various battery options on this site but I'd love to see someone ask this of the manufacturer

  4. I don't think the packs are easily swappable, so it's highly unlikely they can be changed for a larger or smaller one after manufacture. I actually toured this plant last year when pilot production was just beginning, but I don't remember the exact process around integrating the battery pack. Pretty sure it would take some amount of time and effort to remove, though.
If you buy the smaller version, which they'll begin making in Chattanooga later this year, it might make sense to rent a entire vehicle for long road trips. Or, just put up with the inconvenience of having to charge more frequently on the road.

My question would be, I finally paid the additional $400 on the 20th of last month does that mean I'll receive a German or American ID-4?

Good question. I did the same (BC, Canada) in May. Hope someone has an answer.

Now that the inflation reduction act passed the Senate it is now more important to know if your getting a TN or German ID-4, hopefully since I'm still a 03 that means I'm getting a TN ID-4 and the $7,500 tax credit.

If you get reassigned to a 2023 model, you will most likely have a TN car.

I am guessing VW will reallocate production slots at the German factories that had previously been assigned to build US cars. They can instead build European cars instead, and let TN handle all NA cars. But it might take a couple of months for the pipeline to be emptied out.
