Hello All, My first ever post here.

We are based just outside Charlotte NC. I have a BMW 330e and charge it at home using a Chargepoint wall box.

I bought my wife a Mini SE iconic. Chilli Red with a white roof and mirror caps and the brown leather seats with the 16" black wheels.

The car is built and at the port in the UK (Southampton I think), got there on Friday. Does anyone know how I could find out which ship it will be on please?

When I look at the miniusa website, I've noticed that we have "Alarm system credit" and "Heated steering wheel credit". Being in the Carolinas, I'm not too bothered about the heated steering wheel but are Mini shipping me a car with no alarm??

    Thanks all.

Welcome to the forum! I wish I could offer good news in answer to your first post.

866-ASK-MINI can't tell you what ship your MINI is on until after the ship is underway and it tells them which cars were loaded.

The supply chain has caused many problems for MINI during the past year. Reportedly, wiring harnesses were formerly coming from Ukraine, but they must have found an alternate supplier. Without a wiring harness, they couldn't even drive it to MINI purgatory, sitting in the QC lot!

Hopefully you'll get the harman/kardon sound system that was missing from many Signature+ and Iconic SEs built months ago. It appears the parking sensor shortage has been solved, so you'll get to hear warnings when you drive too close to the rose bushes next to your driveway. The strangest report I read on this forum was that some people who wanted to delete the sunroof weren't allowed to do that--they were forced to accept an SE with a sunroof.

Fortunately, neither of the missing features you listed will make your SE less fun to drive.

Lol my car is also waiting at Southampton and my MA hasn’t been able (or willing) to tell me what’s deleted and credited. While I really want that heated wheel, if I end up with $450 in “credits” (I haven’t paid except for the deposit), that’ll go some way towards window tinting and all the other stuff I’m adding to the car (or buying before its arrival). My 15 mm spacers and bolts, along with the headlamp switch cluster (with rear fog switch) were delivered today!

  5. I'm also getting the credit for the car alarm and heated steering wheel. Kind of a bummer... but time was running out to buy a British built electric Mini so *shrugs* plus in the 5 years I've owned my current car..the car alarm has never gone off..and I've never had a heated steering wheel so don't know what I'm missing... *meh*... good luck getting your cars guys I'm way behind you.

Home is Lynchburg - Forest, actually. We picked up our Model 3 in NOVA two years ago, but I didn't really want that drive with the lack of CCS charging on Rt. 29.

Oh nice! I work in Lynchburg (Live in Blue Ridge/Roanoke). Nice to know there is actually another SE scooting around these parts! I certainly haven't seen another, that's for sure.

My journey back home was super smooth from Mini of Alexandria. Came down 95 and stopped at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre EA station, then side roads down to EA at the Sheetz at Zions Crossroads, 64 over to Staunton EA at Wal-Mart, and finally down 81 to home. I did stop at the Brugh's Mill EA station once I got near home, but only because I was doing the whole trip using up EA credits I still have from my Mach-E purchase (I got 500kWH of free charging and I hadn't used it all). I think I would've been fine coming down 29 to Lynchburg from C-ville.

Does anyone know at what build stage the Bimmer.work website gets the production date from? I got my VIN and entered production May 30, 2022. The production date showed as 0001-01-01 when I looked up my VIN a few days later. Now it has my production date as 2021-06-13. Wondering if this means my car was actually assembled yesterday.

Yes, production date is the date your vehicle completes the assembly process.

That's interesting as my Mini was scheduled to start assembly on June 22 according to my build sheet.

It's not uncommon for prod dates to alter, usually they change to a later date. But earlier is also possible, mine was slightly earlier than expected.

Speaking of, confirming what I already knew, my automation sent me a email this morning telling me the status had changed back to at the port - since the Orion Highway has been and gone from Baltimore this was to be expected.

Interestingly, my SE is showing up as "at the port" this morning. I believe I am on the Rhea Leader which just docked in San Diego. I had heard that Port Hueneme was the arrival port for Minis. Grand Cosmo was running right by the Rhea Leader. Have any of the Grand Cosmo cars changed to at the port?

If you look up your VIN on the bimmer.work website you can see what features your car was built with. I received my build sheet from my dealer and my list matches the website perfectly. My car did get a heated steering wheel. The only option we were told we wouldn't get was stop & go cruise control. I don't know the build code for the alarm so not sure if mine got an alarm.

Mine's in Grand Cosmo with destination port of Port Hueneme and it's still "In Transit"

Do you know the code for the heated steering wheel? bimmer.work is not listing it for my VIN, so I'm assuming I'm out of luck. I wasn't expecting it, but was hoping to be surprised...

Yes and it had also been confirmed by dealer that we would have it on our car. We seem to be one of the rare lucky ones and very thankful to get it for our winters.
