Yea, I love that I was able to get the black waistline installed at port, it really completes the look. So far I'm very impressed, fit and finish are top-notch, and range (in this summer weather) is much better than expected on my mostly highway drive back from the dealer. Even though it doesn't have the power of my Mach-E it's still incredibly peppy and handles like a dream. Had to wake up early this AM to give a bath. Unfortunately the long drive home left quite a splatter of bugs. Time for a good wash and basic ceramic application for now.
Are your referring to the blacked out chrome window trim? I don't see that as an option for the MiNI. Did you have it done aftermarket, a wrap perhaps?
Mini calls it "piano black waistline trim" and classifies it as an accessory. I've also seen it referred to as "beltline trim". The code is ZWB: https://www.insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/black-exterior-waistline-trim-option.13262/
No joke! It’s in Baltimore and scheduled to ship to dealer on 6/8. Not clear, Mini! Reusing two dots? lol
As Louis stated, it is an accessory and is not on the online configurator. I requested it from the dealer and mine will be installed at port too. I have the wrap on my current Mini, if done properly, it looks good. But, the tape will shrink in time so to keep it looking perfect, a wrap should be redone when needed. The $675 was worth it for me, I originally planned to keep my current Mini for a long time, it is a great fun car. But with gas prices the way they are, especially in California, it is hard to want to drive a gas car nowadays.
Looks like the Grand Cosmo is headed into the Pamna breakwater for staging! What a "cash cow" the canal is. I'll never understand how the US gave our interest it away after al the lives lost and $ spent building the thing.
I see. I chose the Rail Spoke 17" two tone so the chrome window trim might be a nice follow through. We;ll see how it looks, but nice to know this is available.
Exterior body assembly began this morning on my Resolute Edition! With these gas prices, it can't get here soon enough. I had a Leaf from 2014-2017, but went back to gas when I moved to a place I couldn't charge at home. Now I'm back in my house with a driveway and accessible power. Last week I rented a Tesla while traveling, drove 385 miles and paid just $12 in charging. Between that and the quiet, smooth, peppy drive, I'm ready to get back to electric.
It looks like the Tijuca has finally made it to Southhampton. It was supposed to arrive yesterday but it looks like it was delayed in getting in to port. Hoping my SE makes it on this sailing. Otherwise next to P/H is the Sagittarius Leader on 6/9.
I went through the canal on a sub back in 92. The pilot that came onboard was kicked off the boat after we had to pull a back emergency to keep from slamming the wall coming out of the lake. We threw some water up on the back of the boat! The pilot didn't really get that the rudder was in front of the screw, the opposite of surface ships. Can anyone get a current position on Orion Highway?
We’ll surprise surprise…it is indeed going to take longer for our SE to travel the 400 or so miles from Baltimore to Columbus Ohio than from Southampton to Baltimore…according to AsK Mini, it is the dealer who organizes the transport…obviously the Virginia dealer is more into this than our guys as yours apparently arrived 4 days ago while ours is now supposed to get here on Weds…so in the end it will be two weeks from arriving in the US to our getting it…some dealers obviously don’t do much to enhance their reputations…ours hasn’t provided any of this info but did want to talk about paying $1000 extra for Armorall protection…no chance!!
Mid-Atlantic. Grand Cosmo is closing in on the second set of locks. I guess there’s some kind of priority for Panama registered ships.
The kit is in stock at my dealer so I added one to my PO. They will install when it arrives in a couple weeks.
