Does it count if we spotted a Rivian on the Blue Origin broadcast this morning? Looked like one among the fleet of cars that drove out to pick up Captain Kirk and the other rocket-launched folks after they landed in the desert with a "thump!"

  4. That definitely counts! Really great to see Rivian get a chance to show itself off on such a big stage.

  5. I saw one in the wild on Hanover Street in Palo Alto this morning. It went by me before I could react and snap a photo.

  6. I'm in the wrong part of the country (Florida)!

  8. I see one sometimes in the Stanford research park in Palo Alto as noted above.

Recently on the ramp from 237 west to Highway 101 north was behind a transport truck carrying two.

I've seen like 5 R1T's in the past week. They are quickly becoming commonplace in the bay area.

  10. Yesterday, a friend of mine spotted what is very likely the first in Tallahassee, Florida. Also in El Cap Gray, she liked the size and thought it was "cute." :D

  11. ...and I've now seen one in town here too. Though, it was white, so a different vehicle than the one I know is owned in the area.
Spotted it at night in traffic. That light signature really stands out!

On 8/23/22 I saw a Rivian on Chincoteague Island, Virginia.

This is a rural place. Chincoteague is nestled between the Chesapeake/Delmarva Peninsula and a barrier island. The Virginia part of the peninsula and the island are low density (~10ppl/sq mile) The barrier island is all national seashore or state preserve. Pop of the island is about 2,400 with a robust tourist industry though we were there well after the busy time.

The Rivian startled me. Maybe they have not sold many, but they are well distributed. I did not notice the plates.

I've seen a flurry of them here in Phoenix. I was in Mesa yesterday, someone where I worked bought one, it was parked in the lot, as I was leaving another passed by on the way out of the industrial park on the way home. While driving the interstate I was passed by two more, and I caught yet another in Tempe after climbing off the interstate. It was kind of spooky, but good to see, I think it is a much prettier truck than the Cyber-thingy, I hope they continue to make headway.
