Hi everyone, first post here and soon to be Clarity owner. But I am stuck on the color. My gut tells me to go with black as it tends to make a big car look smaller and it does seem to make the rear wheel housing less noticeable. But Black was least popular in the color poll. Any one with black wished they got a different color? Thanks!

Personally I went with the green. It seems like every car from every manufacturer comes in white, black, grey, and silver. It was nice to find something a little different.

I started that color poll and I have the black. I just thought the black looks classier, plus it hides the body panel lines. Tint the windows and it really brings it all together. I would still get black if I had to do it again.

Loomis, I also tint will finish up the black nicely. Can you share some pics of your car with the tint? Thanks for your reply.

Very happy with the look of the black we got and would do it again. It does seem to show the dirt more than a silver would and it probably gets hotter sitting in the sun but I like the black still. Maybe someday we'll tint the windows- that would be a nice touch.

These are old photos when I first got it done. I should take the car through the car wash and take some new pictures.

No black Clarity in Canada, only steel grey, white and the 2 colours.

I have the white one and have no regrets. Black inside.

Wish white exterior with black interior was an option in the states.

I have decided to go with black/black because it's stealthy looking and camouflages the rear wheel housing nicely. Thanks everyone for their comments. I just need to keep it clean..

Black is a good choice. I'd say spend a little extra and get it ceramic coated from a good detailer. That will help keep the gloss levels high. Also, dont take it through a car wash :)
If maintained well, there is no better color than black. If not maintained, it can be very unforgiving.

If you do choose to get it ceramic coated, make sure the detailer is a certified detailer and spends time in paint preparation.
Also at delivery, I'd suggest that you ask the dealer not to wash your car.
And if you have free time, watch this video :)

I have to say that the Black looks better especially tinted and it does hide the odd lines like the rear wheel pants better.

But I had never had a white car, wanted a color that would show up better at night to be safer, didn’t want a black interior in the summer heat and the only nonwait choice at local dealer was white. So white it was.

I tinted both side windows the same 35% VLT allowed in KY so they would match and that turned out well I think. Also “tinted” windshield 75% VLT with same ceramic heat/IR rejecting film and it makes a big difference in heat gain and A/C use.

ncat, thanks for the dealer inspection tip! Do you have any good videos or tips on how to wash a car? I had black cars in the past and never thought about washing it properly and I ended up with swirls galore.

White with tint looks great also! That's my 2nd choice (wife's first choice) but I wanted black interior. What do you think about painting the rims black or all one color?

First step is get a good coat of wax on the car so you’re possibly swirling the wax and not the paint. Mine came with no apparent wax on the paint at all. Beads water now.
I start at top and work down since most of the dirt from road is on the lower panels. Rinse rag often, don’t dip back in clean soapy water without wringing and hose spray so you don’t carry the scratchy dirt back to the car.

Others have much more detailed methods including the 2 bucket method and I’ll leave that to them to explain/recommend since I’m too lazy to do all that.

There are plenty of times that forest green looks like black forest. Cloudy, shady, and depending on how the sun hits it - even in the middle of a sunny day.

Here's what I consider the best video. There is also a YouTuber called Pantheorganizer. He has good videos, and then there is chemicalguys, but they push their products a lot in their videos
Then there are other channels like Wilson auto detailing and Dallas paint correction. I am not a fan!

To begin with, you don't need to watch the entire video. Go to the comments section, and someone there has broken the video down into time segments. You can watch the relevant portions

I ceramic coat all my cars. Maintenance is so much easier once you get it coated, but it can get pricey. Also the product you chose does not matter as much as the paint preparation the detailer is doing.
    Hope this helps!

I went with silver so the dirt doesn’t show and I can hit the car wash at will... Window tint to 35% and all seems great! (I don’t mind the aero wheel spats!) IMG_0402.JPG

Black is the best color to camouflage the controversial design features of the Clarity. By contrast, white accentuates them. Mine is white and it really stands out. Some say it looks very futuristic. Others have said it reminds them of a Star Wars Storm Trooper.

I was forced to get black because that’s the only color the dealership had at the moment. I wasn’t too happy about it then cus black gets dirty quick.

After owning the black clarity for 2 months now, I couldn’t be happier with it. I think it looks the best. Clarity has a lot of design imperfections IMO, such as wheel skirt, plastics on the bumper, and rear glass between the tail lights. Black hides them all while highlighting design strengths, like the LED lights. Every time I see a non black clarity, I’m glad I got black. Plus, black looks great with window tints.

I saw the green car at the dealer, loved the exterior but not crazy about beige interior. I wish interior was black.
