My original order of a light silver iconic arrived at MINI of Stevens Creek here in California, however I got impatient and went with a different dealer, so it’s orphaned if anyone wants to jump on it.

Once it is off the ship I will push them. They are not amicable to that last I spoke to them but I may camp out at the dealership and try to wear them down.

Which dealer for you? I am going through Marin Mini.

I am being an optimist here, but it seems certainly possible, if we are lucky, for us in the SFBay area to get our MINIs by end of the year. Looking through the spreadsheet of deliveries, cars coming out of Port Hueneme seem to spend between 1 and 7 days in port before being 'in transit.' If we are lucky enough to get our cars loaded up in less than ~ 3 days, they should be up in the SFBay area in time for us to sign the papers. Maybe not enough time for dealer prep to take delivery, but the cars could be on site and (presumably) sell-able.

Has your dealer said you can sign before they do the pre delivery inspection? Mine kind of implied that I couldn’t so worth checking. They have good reason to get it off books this year too.

FWIW, mine was at the dealer here in TX exactly a week after arriving to the Galveston port. I don’t know how long PDI takes because I’m having them change the bonnet stripes and mirror caps so I have to wait 3 days regardless.

Hi Everyone - my new white silver / black top is also on the Bess. Does anyone know how long Cars typically sit in port before making it into a truck? Btw - this will be my 5th Mini, so for all of you on your first, they’ve all been amazing cars with very few issues. Fun, comfortable and built to drive.

No, I have not verified this critical detail with the dealer. If the ship arrives at port on 12/25, I will be contacting the dealer on 12/26 to press this point! Given the importance of the year-end date, I'd hope they are doing all they can to expedite.

Mine implied that I can sign on 31 and it’s mine and I can’t just change my mind bc I didn’t like the color or whatever. And he also said if anything out of my control (damage while transport etc) it’s on them to make sure the car is what it say it is. So I am optimistic to sign on 31 even if the car is en route to the dealership. Fingers crossed.

Once it is at the dealer I can see no reason I couldn't sign the paperwork prior to PDI.

I will check with the dealer one it is in transit to them.

Mine is in downtown LA. I just hope me haggling the price down doesn't ruin my chances of expedited service from the MA. Did you guys build your cars online and pay msrp? or did they try to charge you a markup?

No Markup unless I took one of the cancelled orders. Then they want $500 for "Exterior protection". Otherwise I am just paying MSRP. At this point they make more money if I decline it.

LA may be different. Seems to be more dealers there. We only have 3 in the bay area.
