  1. Anyone else here have an SE inbound to Port Hueneme, CA on the Pleiades Leader?

My car is on that ship and, last time I checked with ASK-MINI, it's due to arrive at Port Hueneme next week on December 2nd (although the folks in this BimmerPost thread report that they've been given a 12/1 ETA for their incoming BMWs).

I'm up in the Portland, Oregon area. Does anyone have a sense for how long it should take for the car to get from the Port up here to Portland?

My car is on that boat, and my motoring advisor also told me it makes port Dec 2nd. Hoping to get it a week later, but who knows.

Mine was delivered to Tacoma, WA. It made port in CA on Thursday and was assigned to a trucking company by Saturday. Then there was no more info about when it would leave there or arrive here until it actually arrived at my dealer on Tuesday or Wednesday. I had talked to my M.A. on Tuesday and he said he didn't have any more info other than "assigned to the trucking company" until it suddenly arrived there (that evening, I think). I noticed it on the Mini Tracking site before my M.A. knew about it.

So it could be anywhere from a week or more, depending on the trucking company.

Wooo! You're on your way! My online tracker hasn't updated - still says at the port :( Did you call MINI? I've been thinking of doing that to see if they can give me a more accurate picture of what to expect.

sorry to hear that. Yes, I did call and they didn’t have any further info for me, but he said they usually do have access to more info so you should call. It made me feel better to talk to someone at MINI about it so at the very least they could help ease your mind a bit :)

Mine went through production in less than 4 days. Supposedly left the plant. Now is the long wait for shipping. I am hoping for miracle to get it by 12/31.

I ordered my mini a while ago and forgot to check if it had USB a or USB c port. Can't find any information about this anywhere, does anyone know?

Does anyone know if Sparrows Point is the same thing as the port of Baltimore? The Hoegh Trapper is currently sitting at there.

I think ours are sitting next to each other on the dock!

  16. I've never actually been to Baltimore, but I Googled up a place called Tradepoint Atlantic that has a Ro/Ro terminal and one of the occupants is BMW. Sparrow's Point isn't Baltimore proper, but obviously looks like part of the greater Baltimore area.

Yes! My SE was processed at Dundalk last fall (other side of the bridge from Sparrows Point), but I found this announcement about BMW's new VDC in Sparrows Point opening this fall:

Sparrows Point is designated USPPO. Baltimore is USBAL and further up the Patapsco River. BMW was planning to move their distribution center to the Tradepoint Atlantic Terminal, which is near Sparrows Point. So your MINI may be coming off the Trapper there.

Ugh! I emailed my MA about the time frame from MD to them and received this reply "From our experience this month, cars have been sitting at the port for up to a month before being released (it was only last month that the folks from the port were patting their own backs because of the quickness of releasing the cars) - so we don't really know what's going on. Your MINI could be released within 1-4 weeks from arrival. Once released, it can usually wait another week for a transport vehicle." :(

That was my experience, unfortunately. My SE sat in Baltimore for three weeks. Once MINI releases the car to the carrier, there's nothing to do but wait. They don't provide any information about the carrier, and have no insight into the scheduling by the carrier. The good news was it took less than 24 hours to travel from Baltimore to Minneapolis so going to Kansas City should be a quick delivery once it hits the road.

  22. Out of curiosity and maybe a little hope lol. Called Mini and was told my car will begin production the week of December 19th. Has anyone's car ever start production before the given/scheduled date?

Not to raise your hopes but mine did. Placed my order on 10/6 and was told I would have a week 47 build. Got an email the next day telling me it got bumped up to 10/7!

Did you by chance get a production number with your update? I think that’s the key. When you have a production number that’s when things really gets started! My dealer had an open slot and gave me their allotment that already had a production number when I ordered. It all could have been a happy coincidence though.

All that rushing to get built and it is now just getting to the U.S. with hopefully a 2021 delivery date to me.
