  1. Yesterday, I got to drive the AWD VW ID. 4 in Chattanooga, TN and was told that sales had just begun here. They have over 10,000 orders already and reservations are continuing to grow.
    So, if you want one (I thought it was really, really good), the sooner you get your reservation in, the sooner you can take delivery.

    @Domenick,

    Are you or someone at InsideEVs going to have a video review of the ID.4 AWD? If yes, when?

    Also, if I recall when you had tested the ID.4 RWD that you where not that impressed with it (is that a correct statement?). Is the AWD a big improvement?

    Like a lot of people I reserved the AWD version. With only a 10 mile range loss and 50% more power it really seems to be the version to go with.

    So the question is, will the AWD orders that are "scheduled" to be available in Jan/Feb 2022 come from TN.?

    Seems logical. I thought this would happen before I canceled my reservation for the ID4. AWD in April. I’m now waiting for the Audi Q4 AWD reservation to open in the US; these will come from Europe, I assume.

    No, they will be starting doing production 1 year from now in TN.

  8. I wrote up a long form review, but Out of Spec Reviews did a video. They were in the 2nd wave of journalists.

  9. No. The Tennessee-made cars won't start arriving until the second half of next year. The factory's done and they're already building some pre-production cars. Apparently, the build 200 or 300 hundred before they start actual production.

    Will there be a price difference of 1d4's built in Germany or TN?

    I believe the Chattanooga plant will also build a smaller battery iD4 that will be cheaper along with the 77 kw usable battery size.

  13. Besides the smaller battery option (62 kWh gross, 58 kWh net) that's coming, I'm under the impression the battery USA-built cars will be cheaper. Not sure if this has been publicly stated off the top of my head, though.

    Has anyone, in the US, actually received (in the flesh) the ID.4 AWD? I heard of cars at US ports of entry, but not at customers driveways.

    Got mine last Saturday (AWD Pro S) in Colorado. Love the car so far. Was listed as Sept.-Oct. delivery date, and it was at the dealer Oct. 23rd.
