I put my deposit in with my dealer on 8/9 and they said it was for a slot they already had allocated. I had hoped this also meant a faster delivery, but so far my order only shows as "Order accepted" on the web tracker.

  3. Today is 8 weeks since I placed my order, and I still don't have a production number. The last time I spoke with my dealer, the new car manager said they should have news for me August 2-9. It's now August 20, and there's been no information or communication.

I just got off the phone with my MA. She said my car is one of 4 at their dealership that has not received a production number. She said that they have about 50 cars on order right now, and many of the cars ordered after mine have production numbers. They have no idea why mine doesn't have one. She said they can't get any information from MINI about what's going on. She spoke with the manager, and he said they should have some information for me the first week of September. (Like there was going to be information at the first week of August?)

    This is painful.

I feel for you dsmels. Your situation sounds really messed up. I know raging on someone does not help much but it can make you feel a little better. I "unloaded" on an Ask-MINI rep with questions to which they simply did not answer probably because they knew I would catch them in a "lie". When I called the factory in Oxford earlier in the week I was told "builds" would start again on August 23. Let's all make a collective effort to will that into reality. Perhaps all of our "force" (a-la Star Wars) can get these cars moving!

I ordered on June 15th and picked up my SE on August 20th. 9 and a half weeks order to delivery. This was out of BMW Nashville, Tennessee. Enjoying the car a lot. Drove from Nashville to Huntsville, AL on a full charge, getting home with about 15 miles left on the range calculator (116 miles). Slow charging while waiting for my L2 charger to arrive and it's slooooow. Still haven't hit a full battery after the whole weekend plugged in. Might be a low voltage problem to my garage..

Looks good. What a difference 1 week makes. I ordered on June 22 and mine is still waiting to be built. These allocation numbers to the dealers absolutely are the key to the build process. I see another with Dealer order on June 30 and it has been built and shipped. That one had production begin 4 days before me. Sorry for venting.

Your car is very similar to mine but I will have white roof/white mirror caps. Whenever it gets built!!!!

You may want to check if your garage 110v circuit is shared. If not then from what I understand you can adjust the draw upwards. If other receptacles are on that circuit you may be able to unplug all other items so that it is not "shared". The risk is overloading and tripping that circuit.

I'm reading up on this now. I hadn't expected to use the L1 cable for long, so I didn't plan for it.

The outlet for the L2 is a direct run to the breaker and 'shouldn't' have any issues. I've found out that the transformer for my house is actually farther away than it should be (in general), and my garage/exterior outlets are even further down that line (approaching 350 ft. from the transformer). Electrician and power company said "ugh". We'll probably install a new transformer at some point, to even out the power draw and supply a new garage building. The joys of upgrading a 1960's house and buying new tech.

Frankly, electrical is not my forte. I'm going to go check out that circuit and make sure that the car is the only thing plugged in. Then I'll bump it up to higher draw and see where we get.

I noticed on the spreadsheet that a couple of folks added/updated "Scheduled for production" on Aug 13. Does that possibly imply that Mini only updates the master schedule on Fridays, or even every other Friday? I'm still hoping for a build schedule on mine soon (to be fair, it has only been a little more than 2 weeks since I ordered though).

Mine is still scheduled for production with no confirmed production date. I was hoping for a date today.

I feel you chrunck. It's such a mystery and an utterly frustrating guessing game.

  14. Enjoy! When I saw your car pop up in Nashville on AutoTrader (that happens whenever a dealer gets new stock), I immediately emailed them and tried to buy it. Fortunately for you, they knew it was spoken for.

  15. I’m sure that’s part of it, but my dealer is telling me they ordered cars after mine and they have production numbers while mine doesn’t. Do you think allocations are different for each model? Or maybe it’s pure, cruel randomness.

I honestly have not a shred of a clue any longer. Nothing makes sense anymore.

I see at least one SE in there thanks to the Yellow Mirror caps!

Mostly a bunch of four-doors however.

Good eye! There weren't many Energetic Yellow pixels in that photo.

Movement on Track My Mini! I put my deposit down on July 17. Got my production number on 8/2 and was immediately "In the Paint Booth" when I logged into Track My Mini. I've sat in Paint Booth Purgatory ever since. Until today. I jumped two spots and am now at "Assembly in Progress". I've updated all of this in the spreadsheet and am keeping fingers crossed!
