Is this the best electric SUV or not?

  3. I think it has potential to be very good. It's a radical styling change that wasn't widely embraced at its debut, but it was at Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance a couple weeks ago and Kyle Conner -- has makes a lot of our InsideEVs videos and is a regular on our Podcast -- thought it looked much better in person than it does in the pictures.
Hoping enthusiasm picks up significantly once we see it delivers a great driving experience.
Here's the clip from the video showing the Lyriq. It's at the 3:04 mark.

It's the best looking Cadillac in ages. But since no one's driven one yet, we should probably reserve judgment.

For me, the Ariya nudges out the Lyriq in exterior design. But, if the Lyriq has the same plushness as Caddy is known for, that would be awesome.

Though, unless normal SUVs, the Lyriq doesn't have the high clearance/visibility that SUVs normally have:

"While the Lyriq is an SUV, it looks nothing like other members of the Cadillac SUV family, including the Escalade and XT5. Compared to its well-known cousins, the Lyriq is long and squat. It reminded me of my schnoodle, who has short legs and a long body. When asked why Cadillac went for a low-to-the-ground versus towering-over-traffic look of many SUVs, Smith was quick to respond."

    See https://mashable.com/article/2023-cadillac-lyriq-photos for more info.

I hope they both come out at the same time, so I can test drive 'em both close together. Though, for $50 K, I can get an Aryia e4orce AWD vs the basic Lyriq.

Have you had an opportunity to drive a Lyriq, yet?

If so, compared to the Ariya, which one would you take.

  6. No one has had a chance to drive the Lyriq yet, but I suspect there will be media drives before the end of the year.

I'm not sure which I'd take (assuming money is no object). I would really need to drive both first. I like many elements of both.

    :(

Though, please, and if you do get to test drive it, do let us know. ;)

One thing that I'm not liking about the Lyriq, is it doesn't have a high ground clearance, as a SUV should have. Oh, well.
