Hyundai confirmed the larger SUV will have a 100 kWh battery pack. Range is expected to be 400 to 450 miles due to expanding the energy density while advancing to Hyundai's 4th generation cell technology in 2023 . The pack will likely be supplied by SK Innovation and CATL, yesterday Hyundai also confirmed that Ionic 7 will arrive as MY2024.
Packed with more connected tech, Hyundai is part of a deal that will see a new Nvidia Connected Drive software program with over the air update capability fitted to its new cars from 2022.

I like the looks but the front grill over pixillation should be hidden type like the front nose on the IONIQ 5 garnish light just above the bumper.

This car looks like every ICE SUV on the planet. The Model Y/X can get better range with a smaller battery pack. Why not a lower hood line to minimize drag? Most car companies are making EVs in the same blocky shape as ICE cars. I know they are trying to avoid the FUD problem with change from ICE to BEV. But they are hurting the capability of the cars to do it. OEMs need to make the best cars. Design should follow function. If you build it, they will come.

  5. I sure hope it doesn't look like that. I have never liked the gaudy front grille and rears of the Palisade and Telluride.

  6. Maybe frunk material similar to F150L?

A great frunk like the ID 4?

That flat front is going to kill range. I don't understand why so many car companies, Ford and most European companies, are trying to sell cars with terrible drag coefficients. Good aerodynamics are the cheapest way to get more range. Tesla is kicking butt because they build efficient cars.

  10. Like in the Ioniq 5?

SUVs and Ioniq 7 target a different part of the market than "most range for the least $ possible." EVs are moving from being as efficient as possible to mainstream vehicles. You can see mainstreaming in how reviewers in publications like Car and Drive talk about EVs now. It is about fun and acceleration and handling and looks. As EVs move from niche to normal, there are going to be changes in design and price point philosophy.

Are we sure it is going to be Model Year 2024? Seems to be conflicting reports that it may be available for order in 2022…

  14. Confirmed 7 seater option will be available, therefore qualifying for $60k iZEV (Canada federal rebate) maximum MSRP cut-off (as long as the base version is less than $55K):)
Hyundai confirmed that the larger SUV will have a 100 kWh battery pack. Inside the IONIQ 7 will have 6-seater/7-seater options.

  15. I’m hoping Hyundai and/or Kia will have their 3 row’s available in early to mid 2024. That’s when I’ll be selling my 2021 Mach-E, and looking for a replacement in that segment.

The Mach-E owners I've spoken to love their Mustangs. Is the lack of 3rd-row seating your motivation for selling?

  17. Right, I do love the Mach-E, except for the dealer network. Ford has growing pains with the software, but it’s a great EV. I really wanted a 3-row EV, but none were available, except for the Model X. I’m not a big Tesla fan, and prefer more traditional styling and controls. There should be a number of 3-row options by 2024.

It had better have a rear wiper! The only drawback to our Ioniq 5.

This just in: Hyundai's engineers have been working overtime and have figured out how to configure a rear wiper on the upcoming Ioniq 5 N! Buyers will have to decide whether they prefer long range or a rear wiper (at greater cost and with greater horsepower).

  20. Yes, it is a drawback, one that caused me to be hesitant about purchasing my Ioniq 5. For me, not a big deal, side mirrors are fine and I have to always use side mirrors on my Ford Transit so am used to using them to see behind me. Cheers, Steve

  21. The Hyundai 5 N appears to be getting a rear wiper, so I wouldn't be surprised if the other trims get it pretty soon as well.

Also, what the heck is Hyundai doing with this 7? It seems like it's been forever since they've even mentioned it. With the Kia EV9 debuting in April and getting intial walkarounds now, I expect Hyundai is staggering its rollout with that vehicle a bit, but I'm hoping to hear more sooner than later.
