  1. Any way to find out who is an authorized dealer for service? If a dealer hasn't sold Claritys, I can't imagine they have sent anyone to Clarity school. I am specifically interested in anyone in south Texas, i.e., Houston, Austin, San Antonio and south. Thank you.

You’re going to find, that even if Honda says they’re an “authorized” EV facility……that is likely just BS marketing. My stealership, for instance, claims they’re all that AND a bag of chips. Meanwhile their “top tier A” level tech has never been sent to any additional training on EVs. Neither have any of the others guys. He says if he doesn’t know, he calls support, and they deal with it.

Aside from them mucking around with the actual HV battery….are cars are no different. I wouldn’t sweat it.

Try using yelp also to find an independent shop that specializes in Clarity and other EV's.

I would agree if you’re under Honda warranty. Based on your mileage you would be, but you might be out by inservice date.

I agree with this. In most ways a car is a car. They have access to the normal service practices / procedures, and any competent mechanic would be fine. You could always argue whether any given dealer even has a competent mechanic or not.

For specialized stuff unique to the Clarity, they may have to research / consult with Honda, but they should have experience with Honda's hybrid technologies, and there is certainly some overlap.
