Timing never bothered me while waiting a year+ for a C8, but the Chicagoland @MSRP dealer was talking June delivery, the $1000/off was quoting July, and both heavily discounted deals ($2100-2600 off list on a Signature) were saying August. So, I imagine the better deals result in more sales and they use up their quota quicker (which I am now told is based on overall BMW sales at the dealership, not just MINI sales.)
There are two dealers near Denver. One south, 36 miles but thru traffic - Shomp Mini, and one 25 miles north that we have order in with- Loveland Mini. Continuing saga, Shomp says can get 60-90 days, Loveland telling us Aug-Sep (90-150). Checked back with Loveland and he said that's strange as they are under same allocation. He will check with GSM. I JUST WANT OUR CAR!!!!! GRR!!!! Just checked your photos on "Delivery Stories", I jealous of you having yours. But you had a very long saga also.
Definitely a dealer issue but be careful because they come up with all kinds of stories. I was told at one point that there would be a big delay and then everything just shot ahead. Just hope you don’t get delayed past July because there is a three week plant shutdown in August. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Exactly, the only two cars that are not in production on the spreadsheet, are the two destined for Loveland, CO.
My SE arrived at the UK port 12 days ago. It’s still there waiting and the next boat to Baltimore won’t be until 29 April. Poo. #firstworldproblems
Mine was “at the port” on April 15th. The last vessel in April to Galveston leaves on the 27th. I’ve been checking every time one of the WW or K-Lines leaves Southampton. Fingers crossed my ship is coming in tomorrow.
@AndGuz, My SE arrived at the UK port 12 days ago. It’s still there waiting and the next boat to Baltimore won’t be until 29 April... I was just told our SE should make the 'first' shipment to Baltimore in May. If the last one in April is the 29th. Can you tell me how to find the date of/name of the next ship departing for Baltimore after yours?
If you can wait until your production status changes, a call to ASK-MINI will give you the name of the ship it is on. But it sounds like you want to know about that ahead of time. Understandable, as waiting for a car after it has been built was my personal pain-point of this journey, and mine didn't wait at port as long as yours has!
A lot of the SEs seem to ship to Baltimore on K-Line. You can see their current schedule here. It seems most new SEs heading to East Coast are shipped on K-Line at the moment. You can find K-Line current shipping schedule here: http://www.klineglobalroro.com/schedules/1-1_europe_to_north_america_and_mexico_gulf_schedule.pdf According to the schedule, Olympian Highway was to arrive at Southampton today 26-Apr and depart 27-Apr. My boat was a couple days delayed at Southampton, but I see the Olympian Highway did arrive today and is moored in berth 44, so it might be on schedule for departure tomorrow. If you don't get on that one, next up is Horizon Highway, scheduled to arrive May 1. But looks like it's still in the English Channel heading towards Bremerhaven. Updated ETA to Bremerhaven is 28-Apr, so it might be running a day or two late to Southamption (2 ports later).
Most awesome! Thank you. We will probably miss the Horizon. Hopefully, the Sirius on May 8th. Even it were the Apollon on the 19th, the car gets to Chicago while my daughter is still visiting (first time in 15 months--the Christmas tree stands tall with everyone's presents still wrapped waiting underneath it.)
I'm hoping mine is on the Olympian Highway, but I don't think that makes it up to Baltimore. Looking at the K-Line schedule, assuming that would be the carrier, your next opportunity might be on Horizon Highway on 1-May. If this speculation proves true, our cars will both arrive at the destination port around 11-May.
Oh sorry, you’re right! I should’ve scrolled down on my phone. Olympian Highway heads directly for Texas.
And don't be surprised if the port arrival dates change...frequently. My ship had an unexplained 7-day delay floating off the port of Baltimore.
Or if what line you think it is on is totally different. Like many I checked WW and K-Line, mine was on a totally different ship than expected.
With an updated May 7th estimated completion date, even if it floated around for 2 months, my dealer will still meet his 'August at the latest' promise. Moreover, it will probably arrive in June at $2,641.50 less than the dealer that offered June at MSRP!
Your dealer quoted you “August at the latest?” Geez, that seems long. Mine told me late June to early July . . . and I just ordered mine a couple of days ago. Perhaps they’re just under promising and over delivering.
You already have a build number whereas one of the Colorado buyers was saying this last week: "Loveland telling us Aug-Sep (90-150)" days. They don't appear to have a Vehicle Inquiry report yet telling them their dealer's assigned port of entry, much less a build number 25 days into this process. Ouch! Congrats on your order!
