I happened across a this car from 2014 -- the Mini Touring Superleggera Vision -- and it struck me how completely awesome it still looks. So, I thought I'd share the video MINI put out about it at the time and some pics. I also tweeted at MINI that they should reconsider producing this, but with rear-wheel drive and 300 miles of range, because if you're going to make a halo car, make a frikkin' halo car. Would love to hear your opinions (and also ask you to tweet at MINI if you like this idea).
I, for one, would be totally in favor of producing this car anew as a BEV. Sharp looking, and definitely would most likely outclass any other two passenger convertible on the market! (And, for @insightman's sake, no hood scoop that I can see in the photos!)
I agree they should make it. I disagree with the 300 miles of range. Current batteries would be very heavy for that kind of range. Keep it light. Keep it Mini. I would be happy with the same range as my SE!
