I just counted all my fast charging sessions (varying amounts of charge from 3kwh to over 50kwh) and I have fast charged over 135 times since June 28 2019, mostly at 50kw chargers and yet, I have no noticeable degradation yet.. However, I rarely charge past 90% and I rarely drop below 10%.. I have only charged at chargers > 50kw 3 times... It's mostly my addiction to free juice that makes me use DC fast so frequently.. If I couldn't charge on them for free, I would be charging at home most of the time.
How did you measure degradation? 135 charges at under 50Kw s is good. What kind of temps do you live in?
I'm in Florida, so most of the time, temperatures are between 60F/15C and 94F/35C.. I use to methods to estimate range.. 1) GoM range with my typical use 2) when charging, I look at the % I added (for example, if I add 50% of charge, I look how many kw I have added) So, if I add 50% of charge and it shows that I added 35kw, then I subtract estimated losses (if battery cooling comes on, I subtract 10% on a 50kw charger and if battery cooling does not come on, I subtract 7%). 35kw - 7% = 32.5kw.. To get to 100%, multiply by 2... 65kw... This is not a 100% accurate method but it's close, especially on a charge that covers let's say 70%.. Based on my math, I'm very close to 64kw every time that I calculate it..
