I thought I saw somewhere the Electric Collection bonnet frames (not stripes in my opinion) are indeed decals, so just rip them off and put real stripes on. And looking at the hood shot I really am not a fan of the blackout MINI logo (personal taste) but now I really, really want to get chrome washer nozzles for my SE and go ant-blackout. Anyone make those?

And oh yeah, I can't unsee the out-of-place scoop or power bump.

you are going to have a sweet looking ride! I want to say my bonnet stripes were about that amount too.

I would bet that the Mini Electric Collection is a hard no on Bonnet Stripes do to what I have termed the "electric lead" stripes they put on them already.

I will say this, I really do want my Mini in that color, except for lack of Moonroof (because I live in California and the sun is nice), and, as I said to my wife:

"We're adults. We should have leather seats."

Rooftop Grey isn't a new MINI color, but I don't know if it has been offered previously on the gen-3 MINI. Here's an older MINI with a rooftop in black and a body in Rooftop Grey:

MINI Cooper S customers can have Island Blue with a white roof, stripes, and mirrors, but they have to live with a dirty ol' internal combustion engine:

The British MINI configurator web page shows the Rooftop Grey Electric Collection model--it appears to have the same Multitone roof as the Island Blue version, but not the faint, hollow bonnet and door stripes. The British Level 3 model costs £34,500, but the Electric Collection model is even more expensive, at £37,000! Evidently, MINI considers the special (for the SE) body colors and the Multitone roof to be worth more than a Panoramic Sunroof and leather seats.

Edit: Looking closer, I see the Head-Up display in the top photo and the seats appear to be leather, so perhaps the British Electric Collection model is based on the Level 3 rather than the Level 2 trim--but you still don't get a sunroof. Also, the British Island Blue model doesn't have the bonnet and door stripes. I hope the British version doesn't have the steering wheel on the left side!

I'm left wondering how much the Signature Plus-based Electric Collection model will cost in the US and why it's not based on the Iconic trim level.

Okay, so the thing I noticed is that the Level 3 in the configuration shows the Piano Black Exterior as a £250 option. Not at all what I understand about the Iconic Trim Level.

Could be differences for the US market? Or too early an ordering process for me?

I went through the Electric Collection next and noticed you could optionally add a panoramic moonroof! To a car with a Multitone Roof!

Im afraid this configuration is just going to confuse me until they release the US version, but I am a bit glad that my order won’t likely go into Production for a couple more weeks. I may call Ask Mini and, you know, ask them.

if you go through the configuration, it shows the seats as “Cloth/leatherette combination Black Pearl Light Grey,” same as Signature + Level US trim.

Not much else jumped out at me as different from Iconic, though.
Piano Black exterior was mandatory for the Electric Collection, though.

I configured my current SE as a new LCI, with both chrome and blackout. Chili Red is now the only solid (non-metallic) color offered. And I have to say the front end doesn't look as good as the 2020/2021. There's a lot of black on the front muting the chrome, and selecting the blackout keeps the chrome belt line which seems inconsistent. Oh well, what can you do? And note the side scuttles change.

It occurs to me those of us with 2020/2021 SEs are likely to be rare (maybe collector cars?), since the current nose is going to exist for only a short run. Because the performance is identical to the LCI it shouldn't be seen as a lesser model.

Man, I wish you could pick and choose what to black out. Overall, I still prefer the chrome.

I'm not a fan of the gray color with the blue tri-tone roof combo. But it is interesting to see the new photos via the British build site.

I might be in the minority here, but I prefer the new front end of the 2022. Good thing, since I had no option to order a 2021! It's good to be happy with what I can get. But I understand it is polarizing. I also like the side scuttles and the yellow "S" logo compared the previous yellow plug logo.

I'm okay with the beltline still being chrome, although I also would not mind black. The Scissor Spoke 2-tones I ordered will tie in with the beltline, so mine will be a combo black and chrome look overall.

Also noticed that MINI Yours Leather Lounge is a no charge option on Level 3 (Iconic?) and Active Cruise Control is a £300 additional charge!

Also, it appears it's not possible to delete the sunroof on the Level 3/Iconic anymore?

Need to be cautious about extrapolating one country's options to others. The UK Level 3 (Iconic equivalent, mostly) came with the Union Jack passenger dash plate and it's not offered in the US. And I saw somewhere (in this group?) that Australia doesn't even get the moonroof as a choice.

If I end up being able to drop the Piano Black mandate from my Iconic order, I now have, at least, a comparison:

Either way, they really don't make the Enigmatic Black look very good in these renderings. Looks ... bland. And, while I like the side scuttle, doorhandles and headlight surrounds in chrome, I don't like the grille surround in chrome so much. Overall, I'd choose chrome, but ... still.

Even good photos can't do proper justice to Enigmatic Black. Those are not good photos.

Correct. We basically got a choice of 4 colours, all in Level 3/Iconic, but with zero options to pick and choose features. None of the four options had a moonroof.

I don't know whether this will change in the Australian market with the 2022 model update.

I Spoke to 866-ASK-MINI today and, according to the "BMW Genius" I spoke to, one should be able to specify Chrome Exterior Details on an Iconic Trim 2022 SE.

I have turned around and asked my dealer to make a change order. I'll confirm when I get my dealer's confirmation!

(I have to say, this was entirely prompted by the posting of the UK configuration tool! Yay for this discussion board!)

    Grrr!!!

My dealer has said that the Iconic Trim, per the internal ordering guide, does not show Piano Black Exterior as an editable option and the National sales rep who was there today confirms this.

I suppose when the US Configuration Tool is available, it'll probably show the same damn thing. Frustrating. It is almost enough for me to want to call MINI HQ and ask them how much they'd charge to build that bit like the UK version!
