Thanks for sharing! Looks like a BMW iX. It may be a while before we see one uncamouflaged. Production was just pushed back to 2022.
Oh cool, exciting! Hoping BMW learnt allot from the i3/i8 - they just didn't hit the mark when you compared them to other offerings. They look much better in person than those concept pictures
Hopefully! It's their first EV-from-the-ground-up car since the i3. Supposedly going to have at least 100 kWh battery, so range should be over 300 miles. There's been a lot of push back over the grill, but I saw a similarly-large grill on a BMW yesterday, and I didn't die, so maybe it'll be ok.
Can we even call the grill kidney beans anymore? It’s two giant buck tooth slabs. But on an EV, why? Does the engine compartment need air?
The inefficient ones need to dump the wasted heat. But still, I agree grills on an EV are like 'tits on a boar hog.' Bob Wilson
I guess since Porsche calls the Taycan a "turbo" BMW felt they should embrace ICE characterstics too. On the Mini Cooper SE forum we've been lamenting the fake hood scoop and pointless power bump in the bonnet.
I must say I think the new BMW front end, with that enormous grill, is hideous, even when it's a real grill on their ICE models. Funny thing, despite its shortcomings I see a lot of BMW i3 models here in San Francisco. And it seems like I'm seeing more of them the last several months. It's probably the upscale EV I see the most after the Tesla Model S (though I'm also beginning to see a respectable number of Audi ETrons)
