Yay for being in transit. Should be a nice new year's present for you! Maybe the holiday won't slow mine down too much!

My wife and I discussed the Mini situation last night. It looks like I will order mine in February and hope to have one by summer 2021. So my theoretical order date is finally getting closer after being patient for months.

The site is currently saying about 3 months for delivery in the US which is where I will be. If that helps at all.

When I ordered in October, they were saying 4-6 months. It will be under 3. I was thinking I’d get my car in the spring but it will be here mid winter instead. Ordering now for spring sounds like a good plan

We had an unexpected change in our household situation which moved up my timeline, so I just placed a deposit for a Mini SE! I finally get to join my forum friends awaiting production. I put my stats in the spreadsheet. I went Iconic, BRG black top, Roulette wheels, and grey leather. I also added roof bars and mount rack, all weather mats, and the shorty antenna. Once my sales guy contacts me, I will also add black bonnet stripes. I had him send me the required dealer fees ahead of time, and they weren't too bad:

    Tax $500.00
    License Fee $57.50
    Dealer Fee $399.00
    Total $956.50

Waiting has its privileges! I wanted the rack mount prep or maybe roof rails but they were not available for us early orderers.

Just to clarify my wording on the accessories - I specifically ordered "roof rails" part 386 and "Roof rack base support system" 0Z2327916. I will likely buy a roof top bike rack at some point to go on the base support system.

My order is accepted in the system. My salesperson said I will likely get the 2022 model. He said they are scheduled to switch to 2022 models on Feb 1, 2021. I wonder if that means I will get the slightly updated model from the spy shots that have been posted?

Interesting that they are switching production in three weeks, but haven't gone public with a list of changes yet.

You would expect a press release showing the nip/tucked face of the 2022 models. However, some people were driving their 2020 MINI Cooper SE cars before MINI released the complete list of options for our cars (eg. black leather add-on and sunroof delete).

Dealer called today. My Mini is at the dealership. We're doing paper work via e-mail and I'll see how long it all takes. Very happy though.

My car could be picked up tomorrow even. Problem is I am seeing about selling my current Mini on Carvana as they are offering a great deal. Might be next week for me. But it's all on me.

An update is the bonnet stripes were done in port. So that did cause a small delay on my delivery.

What, no photos? Don't tell us your sibling convinced you not to go see it, "You're gonna see that car every day for years, why bother to go all the way to the dealer now?"

No pics yet. I haven't even driven by to see if she's visible or not lol

I was actually working on selling my current Mini today and dealing with a new type of EDL (enhanced distance learning) for my teen. Mixed in with Zoom meetings for school stuff. My husband did drive by the dealership and waved though yesterday. Once we decide to accept an offer on my current Mini or decide about trading it in, we'll finish the deal.

My sales guy told me the black bonnet stripes with the black wheels looks fantastic though.

I received a call from my dealer last week who said that my order would
not get picked up in the system until March, and it would very likely be a 2022. So there’s another datapoint on the production switch happening soonish.

Have you seen your car yet? By coincidence we have identical specs (our cars probably went down the line together) except I’m getting Union Jack side scuttles in addition to the stripes. I’m picking mine up tomorrow but my dealer sent me these pics today after they put the stripes on... IMG_0025.JPG IMG_0026.JPG

Oh cool! Love the look! Your car looks awesome. And yes, except for the union Jack scuttles they are identical down to the wheels and stripes!

I have not seen mine - totally my choice because my willpower to wait for direct deposit from the sale of my current Mini will fail if I go in person! Being serious too. My dealer had called just over a week ago to say it would be 1.5-2 weeks. So I was slow on starting my sale to Carvana or Carmax. Then on Tuesday evening, I got the call saying it was in. All the things I scheduled to do on Saturday had to be moved up. Best I could do with Carvana was a Friday sale. Opted for direct deposit, but that still takes 1-2 days to process/clear. Better than a check that would be held for a week by my bank (we're talking $17k so they hold those for longer). So it's all tick tock for me. My willpower waves even without seeing her! I could drive by today and see if I can find her since they are closed Sundays lol

I am debating on blacking out all chrome and dk gray with black either kits or vinyl. And doing black tail lights and scuttles if I do. That's something I decided I'd wait on and see how I felt after spending time with chrome.
