    Can anyone help me out?

I have a Chinese Gaia X8. It runs very well BUT top speed is 40kph. According to the specs it should be 60kph.The manufacturer does not answer my messages so I'm a bit stuck. I believe that they have fitted the wrong axle as they also manufacture a pickup with a 40kph speed rating. The motor is 4.2kw induction motor with a hall sensor. Speedo reads 55-60 kph but car is travelling at 40kph.

What I need is suggestions to increase the top speed. Any help anyone?

Yes. This is the one. you can see the full spec in the link below but they quote the maximum speed as 50kph. On Madeinchina.com it is quoted in several ads as 50, 55 and 60. My speedo reads 60kph on a flat road but my GPS shows 40kph. WhatsApp, which I used in all my transactions with them, shows that they continue to receive my messages but I get absolutely no response from them.

I appreciate your opinion, however it doesn't help me to resolve the problem

    A few options.

    1. Return it and have the dealer/manufacturer fix it.

    2. Explore software unlock (maybe wrong firmware).

    3. Replace gear/axel with correct one.

    4. Get custom gear made.

    5. Over volt it by adding more cells. This is a great trick for making ebikes go faster, provided the increased voltage is within the inverters range.

Are you checking your GPS speed in a built up area or out in the country side?

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I will reply as you wrote them.

    1. There is no dealer here. So far as I can tell I have the only car of this type in Georgia (Georgia in Europe - not USA) and the manufacturer ignores my messages. This leaves me in the situation that I have to rely on what I can do for myself.

    2. Software. I can't seem to find out how it was programmed as the manufacturer doesn't answer me.

3.yes. I think this may be the correct answer.

    4.frightening prospect

    5. Worried about this one. Also no room for extra batteries.

Finally, I am using the GPS in the countryside as that's where I live. I also had a friend follow me when I was running at top speed. They confirmed the speedo reading was about 25km faster than the car is actually moving.

What I REALLY WOULD like to do is to reprogrammed the controller but I don't think there is a computer programme for my laptop. I have seen this particular controller on the Internet regularly so it's a common one, but I know nothing about it

Looks like reprogramming the controller is your best bet. I'd recommend asking in endless-sphere.

Thanks. Never heard of Endlesssphere but I'll look it up. I know the car will go faster. As soon as it gets to 55km (speedo reading) I can hear the motor cutting in and out to regulate the speed.
