Way back in July, 2019, MINI said the MINI Cooper SE would weigh 3,009 pounds. By March, 2002, when MINI staged the car's World Press Preview in Miami, it had porked out to 3,153 pounds. When YouTuber Harry tested the MINI Cooper SE in the UK, his electronic scales registered a mere 2,975 pounds: I don't know if the US and UK models weigh the same. Unfortunately, I don't have a cool electronic car scale like Harry, so the best I could do is take my Iconic MINI Cooper SE with a sunroof and Power Spoke wheels to a local truck stop with the CAT truck scales and have it weighed. CAT Scales guarantees truckers that their load is no heavier than the CAT Scales weight. If it is heavier, and the trucker gets popped at a state weigh station on the highway, CAT pays the fine. My Iconic MINI Cooper SE with sunroof and Power Spoke wheels (reportedly, MINI's lightest 17" wheels) with me sitting inside registered 3,100 lbs on the CAT scale. I believe this value is rounded off at the nearest higher hundred-pound value, so my car and me weigh more than 3,000 pounds and less than 3,100 pounds. My scale said I weighed 168 lbs when I got home, thanks to all the clothes I was wearing on this frigid 90-degree day, my heavy sneakers, my heavy MINI key fob, etc. So at worst my MINI Cooper SE weighs 3,100 - 168 = 2,932 lbs, which is surprisingly less than the 2,975 pounds Harry's scale indicated. Well, there is one possible worse case: my MINI weighs between 3,000 and 3,100 lbs if the woman didn't press the "weigh" button before I left the car. I emailed the CAT Scales company to ask them if the minimum weight resolution of their scales is 100 lbs. I suspect it is. Hopefully, other forum members have access to better ways to determine the weight of their MINI Cooper SEs, but I wanted to share my encouraging, though not definitive, experience.
When comparing to the weight of an ICE vehicle, I think it's important the ICE vehicle has a full tank of fuel for parity. The SE always has a "full" battery weight-wise no matter the charge.
