  1. The 2020 version of the Kia Niro EV finally showed up on the EPA mileage website and gets the same 239 miles as the 2019 version. What has changed for the model is the price, apparently.

While the 2019 is still what's available in stores and carries a $38,500 MSRP, the 202 is supposedly going up $590 to $39,090.

I just did a quick search for the Niro EV on an internet shopping site and found 729 units in inventories at the moment, with plenty of them starting in the neighborhood of $35-$37K. Of course, you may get an even better deal by bargaining.

A few months ago they were saying only the Hybrid and PHEV would get updated for the USA market and the BEV would continue unchanged. Glad to see they changed their plans.

I contacted KIA last Monday and asked about release date. They said the 2020 EV model would be available at dealers in April. The updates are minor but maybe they'll address some bugs and quirks of the 2019 model.

  4. I think my 2020 EV Premium was the first in San Diego county, bought 2 days ago.

    Bigger screen is nice.

  5. Bigger screen is the feature I most would want to have and is one of the reasons I chose premium trim on my 2019.

  6. It's a funny aspect ratio, at least seems at first, then you see that you can use the right hand third as a second screen and still have plenty of the left hand 2/3 for navigation, etc. It works out very well.

Upload a screenshot? Where did you purchase? I'm in North County.

Which dealer did you buy from? We are north of you quite a bit, but might consider a trip if it was a good experience.

We are on the fence between saving a lot of money on a 2019 or the bigger screen in the 2020... did you get any discount off MSRP at all on the 2020?

  10. North County Kia in Escondido (which is on 15 just south of 78).

I got it for MSRP and trust me it was a struggle.... email me offline [email protected], do not want to put negative stuff about a dealer on the forum.

Screenshot of the display? will do in evening, so to keep reflections down... I noticed Kia site does not do it justice.

Thanks. I test drove an EX on Wednesday. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the buttons and dials on the dash and the steering wheel. I couldn't find the sideview mirror adjustments but luckily the setting worked OK for me.

  14. Sideview mirror same place most cars, drivers door and closest to the motor, my other 3 cars have in same location.

This seems to be pretty standard now.

By the screen can have 2/3 one screen and 1/3 the other... the one above is more unusual.

    Congrats on the new purchase!
Forget there were a few minor changes, such as they added the memory seats for driver, heated rear seats, larger screen sizes, and all models get battery heater. Don't think any mechanical changes though, unless you count the redesign of the headlights, which is slightly different with arrows around them.

  16. Did not see heated rear seats as an option. The only option on the Premium are:

    Cold Weather Package +$1,100
    • Includes:
    • Heated Steering Wheel
    • Battery Heater
    • Heat Pump
    Cargo Net +$50
    Wheel Locks +$60
    Bumper Applique +$75
    Cargo Mat +$95
    Mud Guards +$115
    Carpeted Floor Mats +$135
    Cross Bars +$285

The $135 carpeted floor mats are also an option.

Does the driver power seat have memory for multiple drivers? Last year, they offered (2) memory slots in some parts of the world and nothing in others.

  18. nope, unfortunately, also the cargo mat is extra for a lousy $50 and you need one, everything in the back area slides all over the place.
