Congratulations CJC, if the tires you installed were the Michelin crossclimate+ 215/55 R17 XL 98W (as in the UK forum), will you let us know how they handle , sound on dry roads and if I got the designation or tire model # correct and where you bought them...Thanks
Those are the same specifications for the tires from our invoice. I will let you know how they are after a few days. It will be hard for me to gauge noise compared to the summer tires as we had these put on before we took delivery.

Just doing some sleuthing. The last 5 digits of the VIN appear to be order of production. Any publically listed VINs I have found appear to all be in the range of 20000 to 21000 . Just curious, if you have a car or vin, where you fall in or out of this range? Mine is 22410 and is apparently at the end of the line. Do any of you with cars (or delivery dates) have numbers closer to 20000? It might help me guess where I fall in the grand scheme. Remember "cars will be allocated according to pre-order dates"?
Our VIN ends in 23516.

Okay. So I'm no Columbo. VIN numbers apparently mean nothing as far as distribution order. Oh, Hyundai. If only I could believe there's a method to your madness. Today I saw several mentions of deliveries in Quebec too. So there's not even a geographic progression to the rollout. It's completely random. Pre-order dates, colour choice and location matter not one wit. Clearly I've misbehaved in a former life to earn my spot at the end of the line.

BC is in the 23000's right now with the new stock. If you look at GL Ontario's pictures again, his car looks like it was meant for MTL (MTL sticker on the windshield), and got shipped there and then trucked to Ottawa. Maybe yours is following the same route?? Seems like they didn't make as many Ceramic Blue as the other colours.

My VIN ends in 20664, have they really shipped about 3000 into Canada already? Seems like a lot.
I have no idea anymore.! Seemed sensible but the delivery order and distribution is all over the place so the VINs might not reflect any sort of "car count" at all.

Hey CJC when was your Kona made? Mine is showing Aug 28,2018 on the inside door jam. This seems weird that my brand new Kona I picked up on Monday is already this old?

I just went out with a flashlight to take a boo. Ours was built recently December 29, 2018. Yes yours being built in August seems odd to me too.

There was another car posted here with an AUG sticker on the window. It's infuriating to think that some of these vehicles may well have been sitting in a parking lot for 6 Months while we waited in vain for word and for delivery.

If CJC has a 2300 VIN and December build what is the VIN for your August build?

Weird. I am disappointed I didn’t catch this prior to purchasing. Thanks for the quick response.
Maybe you have a little leverage to ask for something in compensation like roof rack? I think it doesn't really affect trade in value etc. but it is odd and annoying.

I tried contacting the dealership and they just told me to contact Hyundai Canada which I've done now. I'll see what they say. Weird that they made people wait so long before shipping but I guess one of them had to be made first... sigh

Typical. The dealer refers you to corporate, corporate will refer you to the dealer. Good luck navigating that quagmire. As far as the timing goes, it's pretty clear to me that, early on, they decided that they were not going to price this vehicle until the last possible moment. They were building them all along but weren't shipping until they were forced to lock in a price. Promises, schedules and customers be damned.

My VIN ends in 52XX. There were 96KMS on the car which should have triggered me to look a bit closer earlier.. but it was something I didn't even think about.

I don't recall you ever saying when you bought and from where? Did you have a pre-order in or you bought a cancelled order?
The last 6 digits of the VIN are more helpful, but most start 02XXXX so is yours 0252XX?
