Who in Canada is waiting for the Clarity

Well, finally got my VIN (80x) number after almost 6 months. The car should be here in the next 3 week according to the dealer. Truthfully I could have gotten my car in late June but I figure if I am paying $4700 extra, I might as well get a different color than the base trim so I let the dealer give the Grey to someone else.

Looks like I am the first to have a 8xx VIN

What colour are you getting? Mine should be here in the next 2 weeks apparently. VIN is about 10 before yours. :)
 
So ours are probably from the same batch. Probably in Vancouver waiting to come out east.

Red. are you in the tracking spreadsheet?
 
Mine is white. This week I was told the car is "in port" which sounded like it was a good thing, in Canada waiting for shipment. The first arrival date I was told was July 23-28 and this week it was updated to July 30-August 4th. Not a big deal... hopefully that's the last delay or it even arrives early! (But not counting on it.) Mainly it just needs to be here before September 10th. ;)
 
How come you are looking for pictures of the Green one when you have a White one coming? Just curious.

I test drove the green touring in Jan, I like the color but my son like red so...
 
I have never seen a green one "in person" and I find that the promotional photos from Honda never look quite like the car does in real life. I had no choice of colour, although my last two cars have been sparkly white and it is "my" colour and my favourite so I am not unhappy at all that white is what I'm getting. But I'd love to see what a real green one looks like in actual photos from someone who has one.

Thanks for posting that! Great review of the car (I feel like I understand them because they are speaking "Canadian"! LOL!) The green seems much darker than I expected based on the promo photos I've seen.
 
How is it possible that there is a base with a 818 in Canada when all the Honda dealer I know of and Honda Canada is saying Honda is not making the base for Canada, that's why we all have to upgrade our base order to Touring. What the hack is going on??
 
They still show up, but very rarely. I can't explain why they don't just build to fill the outstanding orders.

The recent ones were Maple ON 638/639, Hobbesgsr's 66x, Jolette QC 696, BC 752/753, and Parkway ON 818 So if the ones showing up on dealers sites is an accurate representative of the distribution around 3% of deliveries are Base models.

Bottom line, they are still building Base models.
 
As we all know, it's been a cluster. They deliveries have no rhyme or reason, Parkway showed 3 cars, the base and 2 Tourings. The base disappeared almost immediately, but the two Tourings remain on their website. However, those aren't actual cars yet, just an allocation from Honda Canada, they say they are sold but they haven't received them yet. OK, I can understand that, but then random cars pop up all over the country with no reason. I really hope there is another group of cars arriving (as is rumoured by people receiving notification of VIN numbers). I've been told twice that my car has been built and is enroute but no one can tell me a deliver window. (once for a base and once for a touring). Neither car has arrived.

The dealership believes that my car will be here sometime between July 12th and 18th - that's much more specific than anything I've been told at this point! Fingers crossed that I'll actually have a new car in less than a month. :)

Latest update: my sales guy from the dealership sent me an excited email late on the evening of the 21st, and that email contained photos of what will supposedly be my Clarity sometime in the near future! Apparently it has actually arrived at the dealership - the photos still showed the taped door handles, plastic over the seats and interior components, etc. Naturally the Clarity's arrival would happen while I'm on vacation, but hopefully this means I'll have it soon!
 
Spoke with the dealership on the weekend, my salesman basically said the chances of getting my Clarity now are pretty slim. Asked if I was interested in the Insight as they have a couple on the lot. Without the rebate incentive and given the nonsense of the past 3+ months, I am not at all inclined to purchase another Honda vehicle. Will be looking elsewhere.

Exciting! I just got mine 3 weeks ago and it's an amazing car to drive! The Hondalink app is 'meh' and I've found that recharging the car takes a while. That is to say that even if the battery is 75% full, it will take an hour to charge even with a Level 2.
 
I was at a Honda dealership in Burlington today and they have a red Clarity sitting out back (with the rubber and tape and plastic still on it.) VIN is 80076X. Their website shows they have 2 Clarity's in stock (red and white), I inquired inside and they have none for sale so obviously both are orders coming in pre-sold. They also had 2 Insights on the lot, white and dark blue, they look very nice. I asked to see the Accord Hybrid that their website shows in stock but they said it was already sold.

Update: It's happening! Picking up the Clarity after work tomorrow! VIN is 007xx if anyone is interested. Now I'm just hoping for some nice weather in Ottawa to better enjoy the initial drive home in! :D
